First side: Werthhead, (or anyone else with connections to people who go to convenventions), could you please get someone if not yourself to ask GRRM wether or not the man sadly smiling on the prow on the ship, in one of dany's visions is indeed Aemon. When i read it, i immediately felt that it refered to that. However most people seem to think it is referring to an Ironborn. It has been bugging me, and perhaps GRRM might actually answer it.

Second Side: Lately i have been wondering how many people will still be discussing and posting regularly in 10 years time. Seeing as most like GRRM work will still not be finished by then.

it's been a while, but i think Dany saw this in the house of the undying.

Okay, I just read Dany's sixth chapter of ACOK. She had lots of visions.... I counted at least twenty-two. The fourteenth vision is...

A corpse stood at the prow of a ship, eyes bright in his dead face, grey lips smiling sadly.

He is standing at the prow... so he's facing the future... heading on a journey? Bright eyes also seem to connote expectation... hope. Smiling sadly shows resignation that some desire did not or will not come true. And then there's the fact that he's dead... Was he dead before he started? Or does this mean he won't survive the journey?

Grey lips smiling could easily be interpreted as grey joy... Greyjoy. But then again, Maester Aemon is probably the only named character to have died aboard a ship.

Kiwi, I like your interpretation.
