Cats from another planet, robot with black and white bulb for eye

Hi everybody!
I am looking for the names of a couple of books I read a long time ago... they were young adult books.
The first was about cats from another planet...the only thing I remember was that at the end of the book, they had cat shaped space ships, I think.

The other was about a robot, owned by a boy on mars. The family moved to earth, and had to leave the robot behind. So they gave him to somebody, and the robot ran away. The notable thing about this story was that the robot had an eye, and could only see black and white, until someone gave him a color bulb...

The one is probably Star'Kat by Andre Norton

The other sounds somewhat like Runaway Robot by Lester Del Rey but don't remember the color bulb.
