Earliest example of Cold War literature?

My favourite weird literary meet-up is that Mervyn Peake of Gormenghast fame illustrated a book of satirical poetry by Quentin Crisp.

For some strong reason , Im now having visions of a Gormenghast film by Quintin Tarantino and I don't know why.:unsure:
