I read this a year or two ago and haven't met anyone else who's read this masterpiece. Anyone else out there? Any other love for it? I'm not sure the author would classify it as SF, but it absolutely has elements of SF (same vein as, Sea of Tranquility, by Emily St. John Mandel) and it has one...
