A couple of SF novels I read in the mid '90s. They had been recently published, I think. There may be more in the series. In the first, long after going extinct, humanity has been re-created by aliens on the other side of the Galaxy, using genetic and cultural information from our ancient radio...
Anyone know the title of this book? It must have been 15-20 years since I read it, but the key ideas were:
1) Humanity was gone, reason unknown.
2) Before disappearing, Earth had intentionally broadcast much information into space, kind of a reverse SETI program.
3) Some aliens had intercepted...
