jonathan stroud

Has anybody read Buried Fire by Jonathan Stroud? I've started it but so far can't really get into it! I love the Bartimaeus trilogy so maybe it's just me? I've started about three books so far that I haven't been able to get into. :rolleyes:

A friend lent me this book and I fell in love. It's about an aspiring wizard in England (sound familiar? Not quite) who find that, after surpassing his teacher, has the power to make his life better than the hole if disdain it had been since he was abandoned into his master's care. Magic...

Any fans of this author here :) He's not written much, but I did enjoy The Amulet of Samarkand :) I'm going to start Golem's Eye soon, it's been sitting on my pile of books to read for a few weeks so really need to find out how the 2nd book progresses the series.
