Had this film on my shelves for a long time now, but never got around to watching it until the weekend...
This is a pretty good film - very dry and dark, and a more serious step after the hype and colour of Pulp Fiction.
Robert De Niro is great as ever, this time as an aimless and shambling ex-con, while Samuel L Jackson plays an uncool small-time arms dealer.
What's really good about this film is that it sets up a lot of possibilities, and you're never entirely sure which way it'll go - the fact that Jackie Brown ends up forced to play different interests against themselves, and also that you have strong character actors, who sometimes threaten to do something unexpected.
The bail bonds guy is an especially good character, and the way Samuel L Jackson looks demonic towards the darker end scenes was an especially good touch.
Anyway, anyone else seen this? Did anyone's enjoyment suffer for it being a Tarantino film?
