I am not sure, if I should put this here, or in the regular aspiring writers forums, but I am sure it will be sorted out or deleted (if it belongs in neither.)

Anyway, I would like to invite you to read what we call an RP, basically what is called an add-venture, but with each person writing their own characters. I know it is probably not what any of you would call serious writing, but some of us who are writing are very serious about it. There is one thing, I don't like it much, but the story is set in the Forgotten Realms. Like I said, invite you, because the story is much to long to post here, so I will give you the link. Feel free to critique if you like, I will be sure to read them.

Most of the beginning is backgrounds, they pretty much just describe the characters, some are worth the read.

I have noticed 25 views. Has anyone actually ventured to read any of it?

I don't want to seem rude, but do you want us to comment on your online DND adventures? You can't possibly ask us to read all and comment on every person's style (it's just too long for most of our busy souls)

DND is in general fun for the people in it, but when you haven't got the thrill of fighting yourself, it's mostly boring. Try giving someone a short version of last night's overly fun DND quest. Most of the time the person hearing the story won't even capture half the fun.

I read some (no not all) and it gave the same impression as all the other "internet stories": it uses posts of about 20 lines to describe events that could have easily used up one page. It's in general too factional, without enough description/dept for a real story. Since these stories are at random, most of the time you'll have sudden changes made in one post. The sequence of decisions like this is too heavy and therefore it can be nice to read, but one never seems to advance in the story.

While I do agree a bit with what you are saying there was one line in particular that stood out to me:

"but do you want us to comment on your online DND adventures?"

Now, what this is, is nothing like a campaign of any sort, indeed it is almost exactly like an add-venture (a word I hate for its complete silliness and therefore rarely ever use), with a few differences of course. I think you are thinking of a different sort of interactive (for the lack of a better word thing), in which it is basically D&D in words, without all the technical stuff, and I have to agree it is quite boring.

No I did not ask for anyone to comment on each person's style (or lack of), I posted it for those who had enough free time, or were bored enough to read it. I said critique, but in all actuality, I was just hoping for some comments and/or suggestions, so we keep it as smooth as possible. (Its not actually just me, but a few of us doing it, that want suggestions to keep it on track.)

"It's in general too factional, without enough description/dept for a real story."

You said you read some of it, and I am guessing you probably didn't get too far from the introductions, if at all. Indeed the intros actually do play out like most of the interactive D&D campaign (things again, I truly have no idea what those things are called), they are factual and do indeed lack real description. However beyond that, you will find the actual story, which is written like a story, not a campaign. I myself use quite a bit of description in my passages. There are indeed random parts to it, most of them are from a lack of posts at the time or a "new" addition to the Rp who decides to fight the other characters for no reason(this only happened once). We do try to keep the story flowing, and we have recieved comments on how we are able to work off each other to keep the posts more in tune with each other. Oh and the story is advancing quite quickly, though it would have advanced much quicker if it wasn't for personal problems and general business.

I know you were not trying to be rude, in fact I figured I would get a post like this, it sounds too much like the D&D interactive campaing (things) for people to not have some misgivings. I just posted, because someone here may turn out to enjoy the little tale we are weaving.

you want to know how to keep track why don't you check out the wizards of the coasts forum since thats where you'll find Dm.. instead of having any writers on to you. dms are diffrent to storys you can ever writter a hole session.. or even it at all you just have a base since for all you know they player could kill the npc and there for that part of your quest will never happen unlike storys since the reader cannot choose to kill a person in it.

players will do things you never expect so you need to freeform it's totaly diffrent to writing a story.
