PS Publishing is finally publishing Night of Knives in paperback, which means that the unclean masses can afford it! (About 20 pounds).

For those of you who don't know what it is about, Night of Knives is written by Erikson's Malazan world co-creator, Ian Cameron Esselmont (ICE;)), and is set over 24 hours in Malaz City on the night Laseen took the throne from Kellanved and Dancer (And all that entails, but I won't say more, incase we've got people who've just started the series and don't want spoilers). It's a pretty awesome book, and also covers a lot about Dassem Ultor, and several of the characters you encounter in Bonehunters, such as Kiska, Temper, Obo and Edgewalker.

Also due this month is a trade paperback edition of Ian Cameron Esslemont's remarkable Night of Knives. Unsigned, it will be priced at £15/$25 and orders are invited now. The ISBN is 1904619932. Although we still have a few of the signed slipcases left for this title, the regular signed hardcover is sold out.

£15/20 still isn't very cheap, especially for such a small (and unsigned paperback) book - it's still not mass market prices.

Mind you, I bought a signed HB copy for £35 and was happy with it. Depends what you're willing to pay, I suppose.

It's not Mass market price, no, but PS are not a mass market publisher, and it's still a limited print run. A pretty good price, all considered:)

just finished night of knives and I loved but my two questions are does Temper and Kiska appear in any of the other Malaz books, I can't remeber coming across them before.

Temper makes a small cameo in TBH, iirc. I don't think Kiska appears again so far (thank god).

Close, Green. Both Temper and Kiska have cameos in Bonehunters. Kiska only has one appearence though...

But the important thing to remember, Jason, is that this isn't a book written by Erikson. Esselmont has his own characters, his own plotlines, etc etc. It's not just more info about the same characters:)
