Anyone care to pronounce?
I've been going around all day trying to say this, to no vail.
Thank you!

now this is just a guess but here it goes
DR (obvious) Siv - A - Sub - Ramanian Chan - dra - segara - ram - pilli

Hows that sound, its a complete guess but hey

Actually, an extra syllable: "ra". Yes, it's a tongue-twister if you aren't used to such names; but give it a few tries and, if you have been exposed to much in the way of Indian names, you'll find that it soon seems to have a musical flow to it....

I think it was Clarke's nod to Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar

Who I believe is still India's only Nobel prize winner

It's not Hindu. Hindi, perhaps. Although they speak Sinhala and Tamil on Sri Lanka.

if you are an indian you can easily pronounce it more so if you are a south indian. South Indian and SriLankan names have so much in common.

i don know how to write down pronounciations but here goes

Doctor Shiva - shubhra - manian (normally it would be maniam) Chandra Shegaram Pillai
