Does anyone else check Martin's web-site every day looking for the update?

Was supposed to be in early April but... I hope its not too long a wait for the next book.

I learned about four years ago not to expect updates or short waits for books from Martin. On one hand, that is frustrating... on the other hand, he does not rush out half-hearted attempts just to please his readers.

George updated his blog! Nothing really important, but he did say he was working on some ADWD stuff!

He usually updates every 4-6 months or so, usually more often on his blog. Checking every day is something I gave up on a long time ago.

If you're a member on asoiaf.westeros.org, they automatically put up any new announcements from Martin on the left side of the screen when they happen, which is more efficient.

As efficient as Ran is, Wert, I don't think I would call the process 'automatic'. He's not a machine. ;)

GRRM will be taking a wee break to go to WorldCon, and those of us there will be happy to update you on any new info on the book that he lets slip there (I shall be liberal with the Bailey's).

In fact, if any of you guys have specific questions I'll make a note of those too... can't promise I'll get a chance to ask them all, though. There's going to be around 100 fan club members there, and only one GRRM. ;)

Little do you know that the Ran 6000 is actually an automated AI processing unit, co-produced by IBM and Intel, which is capable of manning an Internet forum 24 hours a day and providing human-like responses to its members. It is a serious improvement upon and development of the automod Mystar 2000, which was simply crap ;)

Wasn't this the predecessor of the Atari 2600, before they decided to add in the joystick ports?

ADWD? No chance. There is approximately a five-month editorial cycle from when the book is handed in until when it is published. GRRM wants to hand it in in December, which means the book should be out in May 2007, if we're lucky.

R'hlor, no!!!
You had better be joking, W. Unfair... still, it does give us plenty of time to come up with crackpot theories :).
