Hi, im relatively new to this forum, i am a huge sci fi and david gemmell fan, but i hav a couple of queries about the drenai series.

1. At the end of "White wolf" what has skilgannon done to aid Ulric to warrant the gift of snaga?

2.What is the war of the Twins?

3. Whos is related to who in the Drenai series, i get confused.

Those questions have been on my mind for a while now, so please help me, also if youve got any other Drenai Queries i'd like to know what they are. Thanks.
Charlie.

Re: Drenai Series Queeries

war of the twins has never been revealled, there isn't a book of it, so NO idea :( its what i want to know most.
no idea about the first one. ok, a vague idea. nope. i can't remember. :p
who is related to who, how? what characters do you want to know about? might be a bit hard to run through the entire list and try and name how they are related. far easier if you have a few in mind :)

Well i once heard a rumour that waylander was related to druss, in sum weird way, despite Waylander not having children, so i presume it is Miriel he is related to. what book is there any revelation or mention of the war of the twins. thanks.

Quest for Lost Heroes is the book that mentions the War of the Twins.

Regarding Waylander, he did have children. I don't want to spoil things for anybody who hasn't read the books but I suggest you re-read the end of the third book involving him.

1. Gemmell hasn't told us yet, I'm assuming it will be in the 3rd Skillgannon book.

2. Panamon said all there really is to say...

3. The main line is from Miriel and Senta down through Ulric to Tehnaka. Druss apparently fits in somewhere between Miriel's child and Ulric, probably a differant branch. Or else she had some more kids with Angel.....

Waylander is not related to anybody alive during the books unless you count the end of Waylander 3.

is there actually going to be a 3rd skilgannon book??
also, what is the 3rd waylander book called?

hero in the shadows
its very sad, at the ending :( but in a good sort of way. made me cry tho
but i cry all the time :)

1. Never really mentioned what he did to save Ulric, it may come up in Skilgannon 3 although we'll have to wait and see, he doesnt tend to discuss the next project so we may find out next year after he's finished writing the third Troy novel. So somewhere around Feb I think.

2. The Twins mentioned in Quest for Lost Heroes are the sons of the son of Tenaka, (so Tenaka's Grandsons.) One is given over to be the Nadir Khan, the other is raised by Chareos who is the Earl of Bronze. Other than that we know that during the War of the Twins, the Sathuli are exterminated by the Nadir and that the winner was the Drenai Twin Aradan.

3. I have a family Tree that has the details on it, run a web search for Wolfshead David Gemmell, I appear on the Lycos websearch, from there click to enter the site and then go into the Drenai Section. You can find a family Tree there as well as a full map of the world with more details than the official map had in White Wolf and the Swords of NIght and Day.

I don't fully know, who helped who between Ulric and Skilgannon. But the reason it comes about is down to DG having wrote Legend first. No mention of any Skilgannon at all. But then White Wolf comes along many years later and 2 of the greatest and most feared warriors of their age are allies and become firm friends. This is 10 years or so before Legend. So where is one of Druss' mightiest friends in his hour of need? DG needed a reason for not having Skilgannon march 10,000 Naashanite troops into Dros Delnoch to help the Drenai. The obvious choice was to have him neutralised by also being beholden to Ulric.

I'm a huge huge fan of Gemmell. But his novels would of been so much better had he of been able to do them in chronological order from the get go.
