Does anybody know when it'll be out?

a friend of mine said it'll come out this autumn, but
on amazon it says the release date is early next year.

Definitely not this year.
GRRM has an official website which is the best accurate source for letting you know when it will be released.

He's said it's over half finished so spring next year might not be too optimistic

Yup, probably breaching about 20 levels of copyright but it's not like I'm making money out of it (if anything I'm publicising it!) so I reckon I'm save from GRRM's "Others" (lawyers )

Martin's publications are like summers in the Seven Kingdoms. You know it's coming, you just don't know when. The winter can last for years! And during the winter we all sit around the glow of our PCs and reminisce together.
