Escape Velocity is a twice-yearly, print-only publication from Adventure Books of Seattle. This is a paid market. We publish science articles, science-fiction, and a couple of other departments are available for submissions. See the Escape Velocity page at Adventure Books for complete details.

I decided to return to this thread and give a couple of updates. First, we raised the payment for articles and stories to five cents usd per word, because that is required to be recognized as a paying market by SFWA. We also have several departments in the magazine besides fiction. Science articles, Your Image, Cartoons, others.

Don't you think a maximum of 2,500 words is a little limiting?

Not with our budget it isn't....and we can pay more writers as well. We only accept six to eight stories every six months. Much of the mag is made up of the other departments...
