Hello all I found this forum and thought can they help, Years ago in another life i read a book I know youve all read books, I am fairly sure it was called Where did all the spaceships go but i cant think who the author was.

It was about Earth in the distant future where the survivors of the human race had been placed in suspened animation in underground chambers because of some disaster but something had gone wrong with the mechanism so they were woken up thousands of years later and the rats had become the sentient life form on Earth or it could have been the bees, and its about how the humans started up again thats about all i remember, its one of those books i would like to read it again assuming i can get a copy.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Now we've resurrected one that belonged in the book search section.
However--I'm not sure why we bump this without trying to answer it.
I'm not sure the OP will show up soon to tell us what he found.

I wasn't planning to bump it. I growled in frustration 'cos the OP indicated they'd found the answer but didn't bother posting that answer. What kind of protocol is that?
Rhetorical question, it's a non-protocol that's what it is!

Hmm, does this qualify for having "found" put at the front of the thread title or not? This could tie us up in the staff room for years!

I've heard about what goes on in that staff room, it sounds like the rumours are true then haha

We may never see the OP again but this could be Doris Piserchia’s The Billion Days of Earth.

Takes place in a far, post-human future with rats who’ve evolved and call themselves “humans” and even bee/cat hybrids.
