Right. Sansa is a Catelyn in the making, well we'll see if she stops using her brain or not, if she does, she's a mini Cat... or is she a Cersei in the making, if she learns to use sex as a weapon... or perhaps a Lyanna, it seems she's run away (or was kidnapped... kinda depends on your point of view) and she may well end up with a lover and a child... or is she an Olenna in the making, she could come through this as a really nasty, nasty hag.
The only good Stark is a dead Stark. Actually, that's true... the only Starks I enjoyed reading about were Brandon and Lyanna.
Regarding the future... with Bran and Rickon presumed dead (and I hope their protectors do not reveal them until they are strong enough to really make a serious push to get Winterfell back) Sansa is the hidden wild card in the North. Not knowing of her betrayal of Eddard, many, if not almost all, of the northern lords would support her. People may not remember what Arya (Horseface) looked like, but anyone who knew Catelyn would immdiately see the resemblance in Sansa. Sansa could be the key to disposing of Bolton authority. And the good thing for her is that she migt not even have to marry to make this happen... though the north lords would desire her to marry one of them.
I've posted this before, but here goes again. If the Other is defeated for good, if all his evil minions are destroyed, and if the Wildlings are pacified, then there seems to be no more need for the Night's Watch. What would happen to the Night's Watch and it's lands? Would they be given to the North or would they become their own province of the Seven Kingdoms? A political marriage between the Stark of Winterfell and the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch could be instrumental on bringing the lands, castles, fighting men, and peoples north of the North into the Kingdom. But this would only happen if Jon turns out not to be Ned's *******. And why not? Jon already has a taste for redheads. Sansa's been engaged twice, married once... she knows her marriage is only for political reasons.
Sansa always dreamed of being richer, more powerful, and more beautiful than she was already born to be. But having her wolf killed, her father executed, being engaged to an evil person, being terrorized by the Hound, marrying a hideous dwarf, learning that rest of her family has been murdered, being almost killed by her aunt, and playing nursemaid to her cousin has left her with much fewer aspirations for herself. Once she believes that nothing will be given to her unless she takes it for herself, then Sansa will really begin to play the game. And as the female offspring of Eddard Stark, Sansa will have opportunities to try to marry to the throne like Elia of Dorne, Cersei of Lannister, and Margaery of Highgarden did before her.
PS - Yes, I like Jamie. He and Tyrion are my favorite characters. Yes, I know they are evil men. Yet they both long for redemption. The reason I prefer them to the Starks is that they have opened their eyes to their own flaws. They have shed their self-righteousness for honest assessments of their own actions. They Lannister boys are not pretty, but they are more involved in their own salvation than Robb ever was. Granted Robb died while still a boy, but that's good for me... I was sick of his refusal to acknowledge his own double standards and his fondness for injustice.
