Yeah, she was a bit pathetic at the beginning. But her part of the story got intresting when her father died. Now that she knows what Petry said about life not being all storys and songs her bit of the story is intresting. And liveing a lie for so long has gotta kinda shock her. I kinda feel sorry for her but at same time wanna know what happens. I felt jiped when there were only three chapters about her in A Feast for Crows. But was glad we got a little bit, was dieing to know what happened after that last chapter in A Storm of Swords.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Well it will be interesting to see what happens next to dear Alayne Stone.
She's up for marriage to yet another noble lord. That makes 3 and she's not even past 18 yet! Joffrey should have called her Widowmaker not his sword! :)

She seems to be gradually building up her confidence and realising that she holds a bit of power over Petyr. It depends on whether he lets slip just how much he had to do with her father's death. Should that come out, I think we'll start to see her become a serious player.

What odds on Sansa becoming the new regent of the Eyrie? Especially if her noble heritage is revealed (and it is hinted that Petyr has told some of the lords of her true identity as they caved in far too easily). What need do they have of Petyr anymore, especially now as he has no Cersei or the small council for protection...

See heres the thing....you know how the majority of posters here seem to detest Catelyn....well I have a similar unhealthy loathing of Sansa. At least Cat does something about her problems. Sansa latches on to people and allows the world to take her places. Maybe she changes and maybe I change my opinion, but while I will never forget it was Jaime that pushed an 8 year old boy from a balcony (shame on you Jamie-lovers) I will never forget it was Sansa that got Ned killed. Shes a child yes....but so is Arya and you see how she is.

My wife proposed the idea that the reason Sansa is so myopic and lacking direction is because her wolf died and severed some sort of mystic tie between them. She no longer had the inner fortitude of the other children and ratted out Ned because she was searching for a new pack. I say thats a load of crap, she turned on family and started this whole thing.

Of course having her wolf die is what I think is going to allow her to play the big game like Littlefinger. She will be able to shed herself of her "Stark" traits and become a worthy player....

I dont know what happens to Sansa....but I hope its nothing good.

Not to mention that pretty much her whole family, in her eyes, is dead.

If her maturation process continues, and quickly, I could grow to like her. But I sure as hell don't at the moment.

Right. Sansa is a Catelyn in the making, well we'll see if she stops using her brain or not, if she does, she's a mini Cat... or is she a Cersei in the making, if she learns to use sex as a weapon... or perhaps a Lyanna, it seems she's run away (or was kidnapped... kinda depends on your point of view) and she may well end up with a lover and a child... or is she an Olenna in the making, she could come through this as a really nasty, nasty hag.

The only good Stark is a dead Stark. Actually, that's true... the only Starks I enjoyed reading about were Brandon and Lyanna.

Regarding the future... with Bran and Rickon presumed dead (and I hope their protectors do not reveal them until they are strong enough to really make a serious push to get Winterfell back) Sansa is the hidden wild card in the North. Not knowing of her betrayal of Eddard, many, if not almost all, of the northern lords would support her. People may not remember what Arya (Horseface) looked like, but anyone who knew Catelyn would immdiately see the resemblance in Sansa. Sansa could be the key to disposing of Bolton authority. And the good thing for her is that she migt not even have to marry to make this happen... though the north lords would desire her to marry one of them.

I've posted this before, but here goes again. If the Other is defeated for good, if all his evil minions are destroyed, and if the Wildlings are pacified, then there seems to be no more need for the Night's Watch. What would happen to the Night's Watch and it's lands? Would they be given to the North or would they become their own province of the Seven Kingdoms? A political marriage between the Stark of Winterfell and the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch could be instrumental on bringing the lands, castles, fighting men, and peoples north of the North into the Kingdom. But this would only happen if Jon turns out not to be Ned's *******. And why not? Jon already has a taste for redheads. Sansa's been engaged twice, married once... she knows her marriage is only for political reasons.

Sansa always dreamed of being richer, more powerful, and more beautiful than she was already born to be. But having her wolf killed, her father executed, being engaged to an evil person, being terrorized by the Hound, marrying a hideous dwarf, learning that rest of her family has been murdered, being almost killed by her aunt, and playing nursemaid to her cousin has left her with much fewer aspirations for herself. Once she believes that nothing will be given to her unless she takes it for herself, then Sansa will really begin to play the game. And as the female offspring of Eddard Stark, Sansa will have opportunities to try to marry to the throne like Elia of Dorne, Cersei of Lannister, and Margaery of Highgarden did before her.

PS - Yes, I like Jamie. He and Tyrion are my favorite characters. Yes, I know they are evil men. Yet they both long for redemption. The reason I prefer them to the Starks is that they have opened their eyes to their own flaws. They have shed their self-righteousness for honest assessments of their own actions. They Lannister boys are not pretty, but they are more involved in their own salvation than Robb ever was. Granted Robb died while still a boy, but that's good for me... I was sick of his refusal to acknowledge his own double standards and his fondness for injustice.

Does the devil pay you on a word-by-word basis for these particular post's of yours boaz? or was it just a one of payment of 30 pieces of silver? ;)

Sansa marrying Jon? EEEWWWWW yuuuuckkk !!!!!! Even if Jon isn't Neds ******* it would be yucky. They grew up together!! She has always looked down her nose at him!! She is a SNOT!! Not that it wouldn't be cruel swist of fate or any thing ,but I kinda like Jon, and Sansa is just so.. welll...SANSA. ICCKKY. If she is gonna marry let it be someone so unknight like. Some suggestions: Petry (small ,certainly no athelete), Sandor (Ugly, gruff,) Tyrion (let them stay married ,he is short and ugly) or how about a Manderly (lamprey eater ,disgustingly fat) but Jon Snow NOOOOO he is far to "knightly". Boez if your theory is anywhere remotely correct about there being no need for a nights watch thus allowing Jon to marry please oh please let it not be SANSA. If he is gonna marry someone related such as an aunt (Dany)or a cousin (Sansa ,if he is R+L=J) or a sister (If he really is Neds *******) let it be someone cool like ..I don't know...maybe ARYA!! Still yuckky though. I read enough about brother ------'s (CERSEI) to be icked out for a VEERRYY LOONGG time..

Well Sansa bugged me until ASOS. She's getting a game plan together. I hope anyways. As I posted elsewhere, she may be the returning POV in ADOD since she was Alayne throughout AFFC. A long shot but probably the only other possibility than Theon or Catelyn.

Yes, I am one of those who hopes she finally get it on with Sandor (the Reformed).

You guys want them together? I could live with it... the whole Beauty and the Beast thing. But in honor of BenJen and TomKat, we must call them SanSan!

PS - DE, you crack me up.

if Petrys plan at the end of A Feast for Crows continues, i looks like Sansa will be matched w/ Harold Harding. But this is the view of a 15 year old, im not in to the ploting so it could turn out anyway

i mean anything could happen w/ all the ploting going on but i have no clue where all that would lead...i think grrm would follow the plan he set w/petry but thats just me. doubt he will but maybe...not every thing has to be complicated

i want to see more of young podrik payne, the dude took my breath away, first he so incredible shy, and then in battle at who knows how young an age, he kicks ass, loved it when he killed the kingsguard dude.

I LOVE Sansa!!!! You can't blame her for being a girly biatch in AGOT, because after all, she was a girl, and girls are biatches, and that life was all she had known she couldn't help being good and pretty...
If you think about it, she's had the CRAPPEST life, I think out of everyone in the books...poor girl, and only 13!!!! She's been damn brave and frankly does not get enough respect...

GO SANSA!!!! (Yeah, ok, ok, I'm named after Cersei, but I'll get started about that somewhere else)

KiwiBird, your Podrick Payne hopes are addressed in A Feast for Crows. 'Nuff said.

really what happens? i dont mind small spoilers, as long as i dont know the whole plot. She is 13, not 7, she is old enough to know betrayal, and she is not once remorseful about it, yes she now hates joffrey, but she is such a stupid wench that she conveniently forgets her role in all what happened.

Moreover she lies and lies and lies and lies, oh yes she is truly a real lady.

A little insight without a total spoiler-Podrick joins up with a certain unattractive lady 'knight', and then they run into a certain undead woman who is not too happy with them.
