Does anyone remember this series?

This series was published probably back in the '60's. It starts with the main character's house about to be swept away by rising flood waters. something happens and he, the house and some other characters are transported back in time to medieval England. He participates in many battles, is showered with honors by the King, becomes the leader of a troop of Irish Galloglasses. Several books in the series. Does anyone remember the author? or at least one title of a book?

Definitely the plot line of Adams' "Castaways in Time" series. Especially the troop of Irish Galloglasses.
If u liked these novels, u should try his "Horseclans" series.
