Edit: Vote for the name of the loser

Just for fun, who do you think would win if they went mano y mano?

The sellsword or the Hound?

My first inclination is the Hound, but on second thought I'm not sure.

I actually don't know... and I like them both, but considering the Hound's been out of sorts lately, I may choose Bronn. Maybe. God, this is HARD!!!!

Figure both of them being in their relative peak conditions.

I suppose I do have to go with Sandor, even though I prefer Bronn.

Did we ever really see either of them fight anyone of substance, lol?

They'd hack each other to bloody rags (and probably both die of their own wounds) but Sandor would "win". They're both viscious, rock hard b*stards. But Bronn's a sellsword - the only thing he cares about more than money is his life. Sandor hate's life, and himself, with a passion. He will fight harder, for longer and with more reckless disregard for his own safety then anyone else in Westeros. *

* Disclaimer - unless his oponent pulls a match out! In which case sandor will run for the hills shrieking like a girl. :D

HA edd, how amusing. though barking, probably, not shrieking.

Ok, I'm tempted to lean against sandor, but as will everyone else, i'm gonna vote for bronn to give him some support.

the question is 'who falls' so surely voting for sandor means bronn will win????

Yeah, I made that more confusing than I needed to, especially with my second post and then deciding against it.

I edited my first post to hopefully clarify.

I do think I scewed up D.E.'s vote however, lol.

I had to go with Bronn for the one of the reasons D.E. stated. Sandor isn't particularily fond of his existence, whereas Bronn revels in his.

Pre-AFFC Sandor would win, but only because Bronn is now a knight. Sandor hates knights absolutely and the chance to kill one would give him extra motivation. Bronn doesn't really have anything to believe in, aside from survival. But Sandor is pretty bad-ass. GRRM has said that in an ASoIaF movie Sandor would be played by Ron Perlman (aka Hellboy). Imagine him charging at you in full armour. So yeah, it would be close, but I think Bronn would be on the losing end.

In AFFC and after, however, Sandor's motives are less clear.

Sandor - more strength, a bit less finesse

Bronn - less strength, a little more finesse

Is kind of how I see it.

It would be an unscrupulous battle I have a feeling.

The impression I had of Bronn's character was someone who was battle smart and adept with a sword. He seemed like someone who knew how to accurately pick out someone elses weakness or use someone elses strength agianst them. Not to take anything away from Sandor but he seemed to have so much rage I just dont see the character beyond hack, slash and beserker rage. Easy pickings for Bronn.

Place and time might have much to do with the outcome.

I don't feel the Hound is all rage... remember his fight with Gregor? He defended Loras expertly, but intelligently. When Robert commanded them to stop, Sandor immediately stopped.

If Bronn uses fire... he wins.
If Bronn fights in cramped quarters, ie. woods or rocky terrain... he wins.
If Sandor gets his full armor... he wins. Yes, I remember Vardis Egen. But I also remember Syrio Forel.
If Sandor's psychological anguishes are behind him... he wins.
If Sandor is sober... he wins.

Bronn would win. As I have said on a thread somewhere else, 'Bronn kicks much ass!'

i have as of yet not seen the hound shrink away from a duel (man vs man), whereas Bronn unlike sandor did not dare to go up against gregor, neither of thel lost yet in the fights we have seen, yet/still i can only see bronn win when fire is involved or by a lucky fluke

Its a mighty tight race. Bronn ahead by one point. I really thought one or the other would have run away with this poll.

i am thinking Bronn would do the running, litteraly that is

I'm just rereading AGOF, in the tourney held for the Hand of the King (Edd) Sandor fights really well against his brother, so if he can keep his own against that 8 foot abomination considering also the psychological aspect of that duel, i don't doubt whatsoever that Sandor can make mince-meat of Bronn.
