i thought the book was a bit slow paced but the ending was really good and I am looking forward to starting in on Tge gathering Storm.

I really liked the part where Alain was sent into the past to wittness the cataclysm when the Aoi were cast off with the weaving of the Crown of Stars. I can't wait for Liath to kill Anne, she has to!

I too found that book and the previuos one a little slow for my taste (reason for me marking the series down a tad) but things rapidly pick up in the final 3 books.

I"m not at home to look at my books, but wasn't Child of Flame the longest one of the series?

I actually like that book the most because it explained who Liath was. It showed her growth and mature. She was kind of annoying at the beginning of the story for me... but after that book she gained my respect. :)

Yeah, Liath was a bit.... annoying to me in the beginning as well.

I am sorry but I did find the pace Child of Flame to be slow and at times borring. However as soon as I started to read the next book, The Gathering Storm, I have hardly been able to put it down. Not only that, but the previous book now begins to show its worth to read because this part of the story would not be as good if I had not read Child of Flame.

All in all a very good story and really worth the read for any fan of the fantasy genre.

I think Alain is the only person who can become the leader of all the various races in Kate's world. Alain is the peacemaker, the one who always asks why, and the only one who will be seen by all as the one who brings peace instead of war and the only one onto which they may place their trust. I think in the end even Henry, if he still lives, will bow to Alain.

Of course I have no idea but that is how I personally see Alain.
