David’s publishers have been kind enought to mail me and let me know what’s happened and the reason why the tour is cancelled this year.

Firstly it was David’s health that had the scare and he has undergone a quadruple heart bypass (which initially was set to be a triple but when the Doctors got in there they thought that they’d do the fourth as well.) For those unsure as to what this entails I can tell you that it involves them opening the patient’s chest, stopping the heart and cleaning out the arteries of their fatty deposits thus widening the amount of blood flow that can enter and leave the heart (using veins from the leg to replace damaged area’s.) They then reattach the heart and rewire the chest bones back together using stainless steel. It is for this reason that it was thought best to cancel the tour this year.

David has done extremely well and leaves hospital tomorrow to finish his recuperation at home and has asked (through his publishers) that all his fans be thanked for their enquires in regard to his health as well as the forthcoming tour which he is saddened by being unable to conduct this year. He hopes to meet everyone next year with the “Troy 3 : The Fall of Kings Tour” when he believes he will be back to his old self and thus able to conduct his usual signing dates diligently answering questions and meeting the fans.

I hope ( we probably all do) that David gets well soon, and that he will continue to amaze us with his stories. And that he will do his next tour, 'thou I won't be there 'cos he sure isn't coming to Slovenia. There aren't probably many fans of his work. People don't know what they are missing.

You can order signed copies of his books from anywhere where he does a signing. Although this time round I dont think there will be any signed copies of Shield of Thunder knocking about.

I'd like to have a signed copy of his works, but only if i was to meet him in person, maybe to exchange a few words in a bookstore or such. To order a signed copy is just not the same. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I can understand the feeling entirely but sometimes its the only way to get signed stuff.

We blew the last chance to get some signed stuff afterall. Now the prices will certanly go up. It's really a shame about David. I guess nobody saw it coming.
