Ode to the Faithless Departed

Hey all,

I'm in a posting sort of mood, so I figured I'd go ahead and post a couple of short poems. This first one, Ode to the Faithless Departed, is a bit close to home for me, but I figured I'd share it all the same. In short, it's a reflection on a conversation I had with my priest as I was growing up.

Ode to the Faithless Departed: Buddha, Einstein, Gandhi

Cast me down, oh great Book,
far beyond the grace of Him,
for I too will burn among the greats.
The philanthropists,
the healers,
the thinkers,
the righteous!

A little short for what I would consider an ode, more like a verse, but substantial even in its shortness.
