So how we going to beat the machines? Lets have a few ideas from people who have not watched any of the season 4 eps, i us UK people. What do you recon, a machine to destroy them, help from another alien race, can the askard get their act together or even something the goa'uld have found. So what do you guys recon?

Well now (no I haven't seen or read anything about this I'd feel ripped off on the 6th of September) tricky one this but simply put they are NOT going to beat them ...
if the Asgard can only just hold their own then even Sam is not going to pull a magic Gate Bunny out of a hat on this one... and let's face it we wouldn't believe it if she did!

Something has to change in some way shape or form exactly what eludes me right now but as a wild guess some kind of massive technical failure in the Replicator or metamorphosis from one variant to another seems possible.

These little guys are really cool, and what's more new to this type of program, although I do recall something similar in a film Staring Tom Selick the title of which however escapes me at the moment.

I personally want to see loads more of these guys as they provide such a sporty target for an M16, and allow the cast to expend obscene quantities of amunition.

Right when I heard about the Asgard creating the O'Neill, I had already thought of Sam's idea. Sometimes this show makes me so mad when they are so nieve

You lost me in the last posts but the 2nd:
Well they sort of hae to beat them don't they. The thing with the replicators to me is that they either win and destroy most of earth or that they don't and we destroy em. I suppose we can compare them to a virus. Some viri can come into an equilibrium with their host but i wonder if the replicators can. It would require some advanced programming in them to do that i would think. We shall see.

Sam may pull another "gate bunny" we shall see. I think we may:

1) get help
2) replicators not suited for earth for some reaons
3) we find a way to destroy em... anybody thinking terminator here?

otherwise j'ne sais pas.

Well not really... They have to beat the one that is on Earth, then the writers can still have them popping up in series 17 :)
I rather like your reference to the virus. They do mutate, and they can mutate from harmless to deadly and vice versa.

We have self replicating machine here that is highly intelligent and can rebuild itself after being shot, in essence we don't posess the technology to stop it. The Asgard found the Replicators on a planet in the Galaxy of Ida, started to research them and lost control, Thor refered to them as an enemy worse than the Goa'uld, basically they are loosing the war.

So what are choices.

A)The writers come up with an completely different scenario.

B)The replicator(s) on Earth, much like a virus change to a harmless varient.

C)They don't change and we loose. Not an option!

D)They don't change and Sam pulls out the the "Magic Gate Bunny"(MGB). Likley but oh so predictable!

I'm going to hope for A or B and will be DISSAPOINTED! with D

The Gate Bunnies surfaced at Wolf359 SG-1 and became somewhat popular with the visitors and the cast. Each of the cast was represented by a small fluffy bunny. And the keep popping up all over the weekend. Good laugh.
