Didn't like this episode much. Little boring. HAHA not. Very suspensful, great special effects, and great plot. It gets a 9 1/2 out of 10.

I finally saw this episode. Very enjoyable episode, good action, the team worked together, interesting glimpse into Apophis' world. I was reminded why I started watching the show in the first place.

I like the way the focus of the episode shifted to Skaara, and whether or not they could rescue him. It added real suspense to the episode, since the situation could have gone either way. The show was about the characters, not just explosions and special effects. (Not that I don't appreciate good SFX. It's simply that while SFX can enhance a story, it's a poor substitute for plot and characterization. For example - Fail Safe.)

This was a pretty cool episode. Like you say, it's great to have action, but having a good story as well is more important. It's always good to see Apophis, even if he does get relegated to cameo appearances in future episodes. It was also nice to see Skaara again. One question though, why didn't anyone zat Klorel at the end of the episode instead of putting a bullet in him?

I've always wondered about that. I came to the conclusions that it's because no one has a zat handy, conveniently making the show more exciting.

Teal'c is seen pointing a Zat at Klorel at the same time. Watch the bit where he yells, "O'Neill, you must take action!"

Perhaps because Jack was the closest, and up until that point he was very used to, and indeed trained and experienced in using an Earth firearm. He had only just "met" the zats and would not have been familiar with their use in "tight" scenarios. Teal'c, however, would have been very used to them. Even in much later series, they still seem to prefer the Earth weapons (look out for series 5's "The Warrior" ) to those of alien cultures whenver possible, except for the "stun" use of zats...

Or maybe he knew that the zat's energy would carry across to Daniel because of the Ribbon Device and didn't want to use the zat.... I'm reaching for straws now.

was Teal'c not otherwise engaged in fending off some Jaffas? perhaps his line of fire was blocked & this was just not apparent to us viewers?

a) he was actually telling Jack to do something, so I think he was "free" from other entanglements...

b) as is shown in "In the Line of Duty" with the Ashrak, Teal'c DID know the zat beam would cross people who were physically together, so maybe he was cautious about the potentially amplifying effects of the Ribbon Device
