I recently discovered this series of fantasy comics, and have been reading online samples at their site: http://www.elfquest.com/gallery/OnlineComics2.html

The art took some getting used to for me, it was a bit cute for me at first and I am still not comfortable with the overall colour pallet, but the comics are quite compelling fantasy fare.

has anyone read these? Any views and opnions?

Yes I've read some of it but not in the graphic novel format. After their initial release years ago as graphic novels, they were later released in book form. While they used the same artwork for the cover, the book itself had no illustrations other than small icons at each new chapter. I really enjoyed the story and have been unable to locate other copies since. They are re-releasing them now. There is another thread here about the topic:

Although I have never dived all that deep into Wendy's and Richard's Elfquest, I have read a few issues here and there throughout the years. Elfquest was once hosted by Marvel Comics and then later continued by Warp Comics in a black and white independant publication. From what I understand, DC has brought the series back into the main stream; however, I have never read any of the issues. There very well can be chapters in Elfquest's life of changing company hands that I am not aware of.

My favorite segment of the publications was done through Marvel Comics. If there is an interest, I could scan a few pages of the Warp Comics issues at some point once I get them out of storage.

Oh, the joys of moving across the country....

Below is a link (within the site that knivesout posted) to some reprints of the Marvel Comics publications.

I have a couple of the cutesy ones, and a couple of the black and white ones. The black and white pencil and ink drawings are amazing. They are some of the best comics ever.
