This one I thought was boring. Although it did show us how strong Sam Carter can really be. I liked the ending of it. Seeing these people change their culture because of Sam. That was great. I give it a 6 out of 10.

I thought it was a mistake to use this episode as the third one in the series. It didn't have the umph of the episodes after it and was really kind of lame. <G> Hey we agree Sean.
Cheers,

I quite liked this ep (unlike everyone else :))
What i can't understand is how it is after Pilot in the UK but in Aus it is the fourth episode after Pilot..... why have they muddled up series one episodes?

ditto

i thought that this ep was pretty good, but i have one question, some where near the beginning when the guy is geting chased by dogs, why is sam laughing? it just struck me as wierd. I went over it a few times to make sure and she is caught smiling. :) But other than that it was a pretty good ep.

hehehe, yeah i think i know what you mean :)
i loove this ep, got some good quotes!

i'd have to agree with the earlier comments, this is probably my least fave episode of S1 if not all of SG-1.. The writers obviously felt the need to play the "Sam card" early on to assert her as "not just a dumb blond" but this episode was pretty lame...
But it didn't stop me watching, either ;) :D

I sorta liked this episode... my favorite bit was when carter ran off and hopped on that horse and galloped off into the su..no wait she headed for the forest.
i'd just like to point out that i haven't seen an episode so far that i hated.. just a couple that made me cringe.

I agree. Hate, NEVER. Cringe, yeah, sometimes.

I liked the episode, but that will be because Carter's my favourite character.
(It did have a little bit to much "girl power" in it though).
Still, nice episode to show that Sam can take care of herself. Im really glad she won the fight and that Jack didn't have to jump in with his gun and save her.

They should do an episode where SG1 go to a planet ruled my women.
I wonder how well the guys would do!:laugh2:

It wasn't great but I never hate an SG-1 ep. (there are a couple that I 'dislike' but we're talking out of about 70 ep's I've seen..)

Also this was the first SG-1 episode I ever saw so it will always have a special place in my heart

Please, the whole episode had flaws.

1. Jack should have sent Sam back to the base when he realized what a repressive, anti-woman culture they were dealing with. (So what if Sam's feelings would have been hurt.)

2. All of a sudden she's an expert in Botany?

3. Sam was kidnapped, sold, and is now in the power of a man who could have her beaten and/or killed on a whim. Does she a) keep a low profile and wait to be rescued, or b) deliberately provoke and antagonize him. Ms. Genius picked b. She should have kept her yap shut, and not spouted off on how she has no 'domestic virtues'.

4. The fight scene. Obviously fixed. No way could skinny Sam win a fight against a guy who outweighs her by at least 70 pounds (most of that muscle).

But 10 out of 10 for the frock! :wink2:

Best wishes,

I liked this ep. but I wanted to see more of Sam fighting the Chieftain, it should have been longer, and she should have gotten more injured.

Yeah! If it'd been Danny, he would probably have nearly died - again... Like in 'Prisoners'

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

Yeah, It would be cool to have seen more fighting,
to see if all their training really paid off.
It would have been funny to see Danny fighting that big huge guy:rolly2: :D

The thing with Daniel of course is that he is not military (especially this early in season 1). Obviously as time goes by he sees/uses the weapons a bit more, but I don't recall him being especially violent except in self-defence. He is more likely to get the team into trouble.
