RangerOne SG13 SOR

Now this was a good episode which you could actually believe in. At the end of the day money talks no matter what the comeback is.
Watching the order to close the Sg1 facility actually suprised me but I knew all to well that the next epsiode would bring about an Earth threatening episode that would change the heart in the good ole President of the USA hehehe.

Although it was good to watch the small clips from previous missions I felt they were just a stop gap to fill in the minutes until the conclusion of the episode.

Still, a good story well played.

;P

Hehe, the reason for the flash backs is so that it cost a lot less to make the episode so they could save it for the series finale :)
In the end there was quite little substance to the episode although yes I believed it had to happen somewhere.

As far as clip shows goes this one was better done than Into the Fire which had, if I remember correctly, Daniel remembering things he couldn't possibly. <G>
I think it did show perfectly what some bean counters would think and do and Kinsey was the kind of Senator people just love to hate: close-minded, opinionated, relying on God and the good old US of A to be able to get out of any situation no matter what.

Wondered where Samuels went to.

Cheers,

Kennedy is a cow
I'm glad he got promoted, Maybourne is so much cooler

This episode sucked!!! It was basically a space filler using loads of old scenes and all the cast did was sit round a table and go hmmmmmmmmm....

It was just preparation for Serpents Grasp!

Agree with you KingKnitz. This episode was full of flashbacks. :(

Well, it did provide at least a sensible structure and plot for both the flashbacks and the lead in for Serpents Grasp.

And I suppose the financial constraints must mean something, otherwise the show would be a full movie each week.

Well yes but they haven't done the same thing again and as far as cost cutting goes, they have had other episodes set pretty much entirely in the SGC which haven't been much better. It's not flashbacks that bother me, it's just the fact that all they were showing was snippits of old material..............

all shows do that -- MacGyver did, umm - Highlander did something similay -- there's always a show of 'flashbacks' -

they're not all usually this mind-numbingly boring --

i didn't like this episode much - but politicians get on my nerves (this from a political science major, no less!) ---

the episode made sense, in that, yeah, of course someone in Washington is gonna wanna know where all that money goes and what it's for - but they could have made it a little more exciting -

oh - and Kinsey, w/ his head up his ass, saying that the goa'uld haven't seen what the USA can dish out -- oh - could he be more blinded by fake patriotism -- (not to mention stupidity) --

oh - and one more thing --

have any of you read Ashley McConnell's book "The First Amendment"? it's a horrid rip-off of this episode - i HIGHLY suggest you NOT read it - unless you're just a glutton for punishment -- why? b/c it's worse than "Politics" -- the aliens are ridiculous - and the descriptions and characterizations are wrong - wouldn't you watch the show if you were being asked to write something for it's characters? hmmmmmmm

I agree, he's one character that really annoys me, I lvoe to hate him!!

Kinsey is such a pain character -

he's well acted - which is good, and I understand why he's there, but he's just a pain in the mikta --

season 4 spoiler:

Can't believe they made him president in "Absolute Power" -- gah!

Hmm ... just goes to show that the worst people win!! :alienooh: :dead:
