Replay of death scenes? How stupid could the keeper be. I'm mean come on now. Does he like seeing his people die. How about making him relive the dying days of his planet. Payback's a bitch huh keeper? I give this ep a 8 out of 10.

My thought was that Daniel was being shown the death of his parents so why wasn't Jack reliving the death of Charlie?
Chosing these scenes, death scenes, was needed I think in order to bring out the magnitude of what was happening. I mean if they had just been reliving getting a speeding ticket it would have really been absurd. <G>

Casting kudos for Dwight Schultz. The perfect person for the role of the Keeper.

Check out the Showtime photo release of the four in those couch things. Look real close and you'll see that RDA isn't wearing his combat boots, looks more like a pair of tennis shoes. <G>

Cheers,

One reason why there didn't because no one wants to see a child hurt, and also he wasn't there to witness it.

They didn't have to show the actual shooting, just what they showed in Cold Lazarus. I think it would have had more of an effect on Jack. Showing the death of Daniel's parents would have been the same, in my mind, because Daniel was a child at the time so we were seeing the hurt of the child as well as the adult.

This is a cool episode especially how Teal'C has hair, and his reaction to it :)

Mixed opinions

This definitly was an odd episode. Well, Dwight Schultz was a brilliant choice. I don't know what else he's been in, but the word for him here is sadistic. I think that he wanted 'drama' for his residents, and in some twisted way (considering he's been there for so long), he thought that emotional, tragic scenes like those chosen were best. Apart from that, I did think that they would use Charlie's death for Jack, but possibly not after using what would of basically been the same in 'Cold Lazarus'. The death of Daniel's parents'? I don't know what anyone thinks about that acting in that part, but for me that stood out above all the emotion/angst or whatever you could call it for the entire episode, as that was just horrifying. Seeing that from a point of view of the character, as a child? Fictional or not it doesn't bear thinking about. Overall, good marks for drama/emotion, and the idea of the plot (Virtual Reality), but is was kind of slow by the end.

Ah!, Teal'c's hair, Ah! (Ha Ha!)

kel sha,

when the keeper is able to get access to their brains he also must be able to see after let them pass few "games" that they are really want out there and that they're able to can ...

so if i would be the keeper i would realease them (in real) this moment i detect that ....

this ep was from the production costs one of the cheapest i think (4-5 times the same scene) ... but it was not so bad ..

You'd think if the Keeper really wanted to keep the 'new software' that he'd show them something that would make them want to stay and not something so horrible. just a thought. but i did enjoy this ep.

Ture, but nothing would really pursaude them to stay I donn't think. The way you put it, it's the removal of their freedom, even if they are in what could be a personal heaven.
