Aren't you guys just sick and tired of the shippers stuff??
I wish the writers and producers wouldn't have listened to what they read on the net, but...hey...LISTEN UP GUYS!!! That ongoing romance stuff sucks!!
It's going to ruin season four!!!

Hi Major
I don't want to get into the whole shipper/anti-shipper debate (been there, done that), but there were some fine moments to this ep that shouldn't get lost in all the yelling.

First, I'd love to see RDA and AT get a emmy nod for that last scene. Even if you're not happy about where the writers are taking these two characters, you've got to admit that these two actors can say more without saying a word than most people can. My hat's off to them!

Secondly, I love the fact that we came into this ep in the middle of the story. I was afraid this was going to be a standard, "go to a planet, get captured and tortured, and escape" episode. By coming in on the middle of the action, we were able to enjoy the characters' abilities to problem solve the situation. I loved that despite the "stamping" they were true to themselves.

Finally, I really liked the secondary characters. The administrator, Brenna, The woman who worked with Daniel (sorry, I forgot the name)seemed fairly well-developed for such minor roles. I cared about these people and wanted to know more about them. I wonder if we'll ever see them again...

I guess that's all for now.

Just caught this epi in the UK and, sorry Major Carter, I like the Jack/Sam stuff when it's done in such a way as to not develop. I'm a pathetic romantic at heart and like to see them trying to acknowledge their feelings towards each other without being able to do a damn thing about it. But I respect your view, and I think I know where you're coming from, if they were to "get it on", it would completely ruin the whole thing. I see the game play as an opportunity for the characters to develop but it could just as easily turn into a load of soppy cheeseball if the writers aren't carefull.
Wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all thought alike, heh heh.

...."ya think?"

And the Gate writers know they have done well to keep this many fans talking and guessing . . . well enough to sign the major players up to season 7. Nice job.

as much as i don't want it to turn into harlequin sg-1, i do have to say the last scene was the best.
sam calling jack sir, him going sir and her agreeing.
to me the sign of a true friendship is mutual respect. he may be head over heels over her but he respects her enough to accept her boundries
i also enjoyed sam not being as subservient as she tends to be...you know less of a 2ic and more of an equal. the same with daniel.
personally i think they could have explored the characters a bit more...but they did only have 45 minutes

I think military Airforce reg, with an alien complete with a different set of cultural rules, complete with archiological enthusiasm with no structural background, added to hostile aliens with different worlds . . . not too bad, Gate writers, not too bad at all. I look forward to more from y'all . . . and Peter DeLouise.
