I can't believe you guys are already onto Episode 11. So so unfair! Out of interest, are they going to play the series all the way through from start to finish. I think for series 3 you had a few weeks break and Sky One actually over took you (our series always go from start to finish with no re-runs in the middle). Do you think that is going to happen this time?

Any eta on when you get Series 5. I assume they are filming it now or are they?

I would imagine there will be another break about midway. I think that everyone gets a month or so off somewhere in the middle of shooting if I remember correctly from last year. RDA had hurt his back during their break last year (I think). I vaguely remember that he couldn't do one of the things on his birthday that was planned because of it and (if memory serves) that was also about the time they were coming back to finish shooting Season 3.

Cheers,

Arr. that is good, gives us a chance to catch up a bit.

I hope they show 2010 before the break....the description of the plot has me very interested...Ive been counting down episodes since the first of Aug till it comes up.

I heard a rumour that we get 2 more eps after Tangent, on Showtime, then it's reruns til Jan. I think that's what they did last yr too. BTW, Tangent was excellent.

Till jnauary hey?

well we have had 2 eps. there are, ek.. 10/11 weeks to the start of january so we will be on what, 13th ep probably. I recon we might overtake you like we did last year, not that would be funny!

US has about 5 more episodes to go and they are stopping and it's not starting until January, so the UK might too...
Australia might go right through christmas and pass everyone... I will be laughing then

I`ve heard that 2010 is a sort of indirect or direct sequel to Chain Reaction and that the mistake they have to go and correct is General Hammond leaving.
And if anyone is moaning about me telling spoilers, look at the name of this post, it is clearly marked.

Ooh, that sounds good!!
I knew ol' Hammos wouldn't leave!
I have noticed that they have 'good' double episodes between every series (Except series 1) ie, Tok'Ra and Jolinar's Memories and TDYK.

Serpent's Venom is next and then we start over again with Small Victories.

I remember when the UK was getting the eps before us. A friend of mine in London said that TPTB asked them to hold back, which they did by starting to show reruns until the US overtook them.

Cheers,

Did they? I can't remember that, i remember being ahead though.. hahahaha...

No more stargate for you.. hehe haha.. now we get to catch up.. finally....

If only they would repeat Farscape Season 2 and Stargate Series 3 i would be a happy bunny.

I still think that Australia MIGHT pass everyone…..
Does anyone know how far they are in making them? Have they finished S4? Onto S5 yet?

Nope they haven't finished Season 4 yet. If memory serves, they usually finish around October then take their hiatus and come back around the end of January or so to start the new season.

Cheers,

Okay, i would love to be there when they make the episodes....
So how many days do they take to make an ep?

Do they actually do 1 ep at a time. I guess that makes it easier for the actors/actresses but maybe easier to stage if they could do lots of scenes at once from many eps.

I think they might do more than one episode at a time, after all it could save a few trips out to the Canadian wilderness :)

They are wonderful people! Who actually makes the show? Who is the Gekko people?

Well it all kinds of depends on what you mean by working on an episode. There are usually several in production at the same time, usually in different phases of production. After they've settled on the script, they usually research the locations and this is done well in advance of actual filming. You also have more than one director working a show. Second unit's do things that are peripheral to the actual actors being involved. I've even heard it done on other series that when they are on location and they know they are going to be needing a scene in a future episode from that same location, they shoot it them while they're there. After that is sound dubbing and editing. I believe it all takes place over several weeks. The actors could be called back to do a loop over on a previously shot scene from a previous episode. RDA has mentioned that he being one of the producers, he sometimes works seven days a week. On Sunday he'll fly down to LA and work with the editors. Must be a hard life.

The Gekko people are Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Greenburg.

Cheers,
