Season 3 DVDs

Heard a nice little rumour that season 3 dvds will be on sale in the UK around Jan 2001. That is about as early as we could have expected and pretty good news if you ask me.

My sci-fi want list now included:

X-Files Season 1 Box set
Buffy Season 1 Box set (probably)
Stargate Season 3 DVDs when the come out.

Guessing that Andromeda will follow. I am still wondering if i will be the star trek dvds if they release them. At only 2 eps per dvd i doubt i will though.

Well we have 6 series 1 episodes on dvd so far. My guess is that they may do a 2/2 thing for a while until the finish of series 1.

They really have made quite a mess of the dvd release i guess.

Hey I'm finally got the courage to hand in my (very small) resume to a fruit and veg store !!! Maybe now i can finally order some dvd's from the UK? (I think i am getting a bit ahead of myself though)

you meed to decide if you are going to get videos or dvds and check you can play them first!

Season 1 DVD's

Has anyone heard of Season 1 will be coming out on DVD? I have the few that came out in the UK, but I'd like to get the full season. I don't have a PAL video player and can't afford one at this time [although I already have a signal convertor].

At the moment MGM have published no plans to release the rest of the series 1 on DVD in the UK. Perhaps they will do some more of that bizarre 2/2 thing but i don't know. I think it is more likely that the US will do a whole series 1 release at some point but not sure at the moment.

Ayeah, the are, but you just have to check which area they are selling to. People will do almost anything for money.
And being 'tricky' is one of them. It now seems to be a buyer beware atmosphere!

If MGM are trying to make money it seems an illogical way to do it, not release the dvds in the US and release them in such a bizarre order in the UK. I can't see much rationality behind it but never mind.

I keep thinking it might have something to do with syndication writes because the show is still being made. And is still a new franchise! Get that money word!

probably but does not explain series 1 lack of DVDs. Don't you also have them on Video anyway?

DVD vrs video

The videos are nice, but the don't come near the crispness and quality the DVD brings to the special effects of the show. I was totally blown away when I saw my first DVD of GotG vrs the commercial video.

I agree! The quality is infinately better. All I have do do is compare 'Amistad' video and DVD. The DVD also lasts longer!

They are making money out of us Aussies, with out dollar being so low we can buy like 5 Videos in Australia for one DVD from the UK, that really sucks.....

yup the pound is tooooooo strong, killing our exports. quewe economics speal .....

Hehe, but everything is heaps dear in the UK ie, mcdonalds is a bloody rip-off!!
