My bro absolutely loves these books and has about 15 of them, i have only ready one, HogFather so i guess that that is my fav. novelm what is yours?

I just love Jingo, with Ankh-Morpork at war and Nobbs and Colon as spies. And Nobbs dressing up as an exotic dancer.
Martouf you need to read pratchetts book The last continent. Its not about Australia just vaguely australian in some places. With references to priscilla, beer, and even ned kelly.

Hehe, there are about a dozen TP books waiting in my borther's room for me to read (With about 6 more series) but i am not a big reader, and reading my SG books is first...

My fav is Mort, but at the moment I am re-reading my collection so it may change as I become reacquainted with some old friends.

Okay 3 books in one week and still going strong, the girls at work are getting a wee bit suspicious about the howls of laughter from the rest room at lunch. I shall convert them they watch SG1 now so there is hope.

Good one Cap't Crash! My fave has to be... oh, all of the watch ones. Just love the way Vimes and Havelock interact. Anyone read his eearlier stuff? ie Carpet People etc...?

Just finished the Guards series from Guards, guards to The fifth Elephant.Loved the way the watch and Vimes developed and the changes TP made to the Vimes/Big H interaction.Brillient.
Now for the Witches...

Ah, the witches...
Did not like GW at the start, but by Crpe Jugulum... love em! And Magrat...hehehe!
My fave Nanny Ogg's song, s/one should write that up....

I've got 23 of the 25 Discworld books - just missing the last two. I've read about 15 and I think they are brilliant books. My favourite are any to do with Death and the Luggage. I'd love to see one where Death inadvertantly becomes the Luggage's master. The Luggage has got attitude with a big "A"!

Discworld?!

Note: I am newbie. (No kidding, I've only just registered) Discworld, I LOVE Discworld. My faves include 'Guards Guards' (Who ever likes the Watch or Vimes will know). I also like 'The Fifth Elephant' and most City Watch books. My sister thinks Pratchett is a genius, but she doesn't even read them! Please reply to this if I am doing any thing wrong!

Wrong! wrong! you can't DO anything wrong if you read Mr T!
I've just finished the watch story line from Vimes in the gutter muttering about the city as a women, right through to 'father to be stone cold sober'. After Death Vimes is my fav at the moment.
Have you read the Truth yet, it's in my stocking for Xmas all the reveiws have been good.

No werong thiongs!
Hah, speililili.
Stop.

I love.... all the books with CMOTD and his relatives. Am gonna re-read all after hols

'Mr T', neat, I have also heard him refered to as 'Pterry', for some reason. You are right about Vimes, Cap'tCrash who would of thought that a guy like that would end up as a Commander/Duke/Ambassador etc.
You've only read 'Hogfather', Martouf? Good one to start you off, I agree, but unless you are reading more already, you don't know what you are missing!
Oh yes, 'The Truth' is brilliant.

"Pterry" is a reference to his Pyramids novel, and an accent one of the characters in it has.

I don't think I could choose just ONE book as my favorite, they're all splendid. I did think that Faust/Eric was a bit weak, but only weak for Pratchett.

I do treasure one of my copies of Good Omens, though. A friend was able to meet Pratchett and get him to inscribe the book to me! I was recovering from surgery, and this made me feel better.

My fave Nanny Ogg's song, s/one should write that up....

Someone has!

Yes, I'm new to this board, but I've been reading Pratchett for a long time, and I've introduced his writings to at least a dozen people.

Good one!
Hi and welcome.
Good Omens... w/ Gaiman who wrote 'Neverwhere' I think. A good book and a good TV series, but I digress.

My fave book would have to be a toss between Good Omens and Jingo. I think Crowley is brilliant in Good Omens. :D

Mine's got to be Witches Abroad.

Though I've enjoyed all but one. All are such great observations of character.

my favourite is theif of time. it was the first discworld i read

yes i know it was the wrong place to start but i suddenly decided to read a discworld and it happened to be the one i picked off the shelf
