I would like yas to post stuff about danel, Kind of a character guide of him. Sopost away.

mom and dad, claire and melbourne were archaeologists who were killed in an accident in the new york museum when a coverstone fell on them(ouch!) daniel witnessed it.
his grandfather refused to take custody so he spent most of his childhood in foster homes.
dr. jordan was a professor of his and danny seemed to be his golden boy until his rather odd theories about the ancient gods being aliens sorta got him into trouble.
danny got ostracized from the scientific community and took a job offered by cathering to translate a coverstone.
once on abydos, he decided to stay, since he obviously felt he had nothing on earth to keep him there.
born on july 8 in 64 or 65 ish (well he was 4 1/2 in 1969)
likes chocolate walnut cookies.
all along he sees the non-military way of things. he's far more inclined to walk up to strangers than stay back in the bushes like the rest. which keeps getting them in trouble.
seems to have really bad luck with girls.
may not be fond of violence but can get the job done if he needs to (like when he blasted the ree-tou)

hey cat if you wanna drule over jack go to the jack part of this site i'm not excluding you from here not at all pleaze don't get that impreisson. it's just if you look at the way well alll talk in this little section well ....you sortta get the pic if ya do

he has a lovely smile. and what about those
beautiful blue eyes of his, you could just
drown in them. he is also very sensative, and
he cares about people...peachy

Sorry, Carter, no offence intended. It just seemed that nothing much was happening in this thread so I thought I'd stir it up a bit.

Of course, I'm happy to take my drool somewhere else. :D :D :D

it's ok cat i really don't mind i was sortta half asleep (i think ) when i came on here adn posted that. the nogen dosen't work well on over time. well stir when ever

Anyway, I do like Daniel :D.

I like the idea of an archaeologist going off doing exciting things offworld.

I did egyptology at university and if I had known that being an archaeologist was so much fun I would have done the final semester dig at Saqqara (but I was at uni to become a lawyer so it seemed a bit self indulgent to go off to Egypt for six months to dig in the sand).

I'm glad Daniel lost the geek thing. Hanging around O'Neill and Teal'c (and around the macho world of the SGC generally) there's no way he could have kept that up.

geek thing

i'm glad they've played the geek
think down a bit as well, i still
like him to be a bit helpless sometimes
but not all the time...peachy

well-and no offense meant- he's no where as helpless as writers tend to make him be. danny's more than able to hold his own in a fight. in fiad he wasted a jaffa, in show and tell it was the reetou...he's certainly no wimp.

My view:

Well, thank you Skydiver, you took the words right out of my mouth. Sure, I'm looking at the guy from an early series 2 portrayal, but that guy a pasifist? no way. You just look at his attitude in episodes, even early ones like 'Fire and Water', and especially 'The Gamekeeper', and you see what Daniel's like when he gets mad. H eonly looks like a pasicfist when you consider he's with an experineced colonel, captain and Jaffa warrior, but he can, and does hold his own. True, I do prefer it when he's playing the geek, at least he's not as scary as he is in 'Need' (Sorry, but I could hardly watch that episode). So he sheds the geeky image? that should be interesting.
Sorry for this long post, it's just stuff I've written in my episode reviews.

Hi
I love the 'Dr. Jackson as Anthropologist' better than 'Jackson, soldier, member of SG1'. After all if a person holding a gun was all that's needed the position could have been filled by Kawasaki or another 'jar head'. I can understand the need for him to carry a gun… (and even get a hair cut :( ) after all he apparently holds a lot of pain from his wife’s loss. And as Thor said... "it is not a perfect Universe". However the chrematistics that I loved… love about Dr. Jackson is the ability to find peaceful solutions (and his smile). It is this that I usually fall in love with in all my favourite media characters (Dr Basher – Star Trek DS9, and Dr Blare Sandberg – the sentinel) ;)
After all that our HERO has done for the TV show… the world… the freedom of Millions of Humans all around this Galaxy… I only hope that he does not loose too mutch of that spark… that little boy… that explorer that I love. (And I can only hope that he is finally rewarded for who and what he is… the inner child in all of us)

Hmm, come to think of it he does add a bit of life to the team and the show. Despite the sarcasm of Jack and so forth, I think it'd be missing somthing without the inquisitive archaeologist.
Heh, I looked up 'flaky' after Jack called him it in '1 false Step', as I didn't get it.
It means 'eccentric' or 'crazy'!
True. We did see the thing with him doing the plane impression. OHMYGOD! :rolly2:

Well I admit it. I do like Daniel as much as I like Jack. Just in a different way.

The sensative types can do that to you.

I do a lot of research on ancient cultures and Stargate became my favorite show because of the fascinating bits they throw out.

Besides, Daniel is someone you can cuddle with.

This however does NOT interfere with my obsession with Jack. ;)

Just don't see the need to limit myself.
