An Indian Epic

Here are two reviews I found of the first volume, a rather negative one from SFSite: http://www.sfsite.com/12b/pa166.htm
but this one from Alien Online answers some of the charges and presents a positive view: http://www.thealienonline.net/ao_060.asp?baa=1&tid=2&scid=15&iid=1573

It doesn't seem too much of my sort of thing, then, but I suspect there are folks around here who may enjoy it.

Hmm...they look pretty cool. I'll check those out sometime.

Looks pretty good....
If he does it well, it could be reight up there with Lord of the Rings in a hundred years.

It is an old story but people outside India and the Asian community need to know about Rama.

Thanks for posting the links, I found them interesting. This book is advertised in the fantasy book club monthly mag and I hadnt heard of this author before. Looks interesting, something slightly different :)
