Fan site TrekWeb has put up information on the latest Cinefantastique issue which contains information on the possibilities of a Deep Space Nine movie with quotes from a variety of cast and crew. Said Nana Visitor "It depends. Basically, Rick Berman talked me into this job in the first place and if he told me that [a DS9 movie] is going to be good, I`d believe him and I`d do it, because I trust him."

Nicole de Boer is still eager to do more Trek, but is in the dark. "I hope so" said Nicole DeBoer about playing Ezri Dax again "No one has ever mentioned to me, but I would definitely consider it. I suppose it`s not impossible. All I hear are rumors, about a movie, about certain people being take over to Voyager, or something like that. Nobody has actually talked to me or my agent. I haven`t heard one peep."

Well I, for one, would certainly watch a feature movie for DS9. I hope they do go through with it.

Cheers,

Say full out war, DS9 on verge of collapse, alpha quadrant about to be invaded. But... duh doh duh.. the Defiant is out ready but they need help, fortunatly Voyager turn up with some nice little alien device they found that could prove useful and they join forces (after the oh my your a marquis incident thing) and whip some dominion but :)

The latest issue of the Cinefantastique magazine featured, among other things, interviews with many members of the DS9 cast and crew. Many of the interviews seem to cast doubts on rumors of a future DS9 movie. Michael Dorn is quoted as saying: "[it will have to be done] in three years or two years, or else they are not going to do it. If [TNG does] another movie, maybe two years after that they will do another movie with Deep Space or Voyager, and that`s five years… for me, I`d like to see Worf get a call from Captain Picard saying `Come home` I say `Got to go`". Of course Dorn has an advantage that the other members of the DS9 cast do not: the fact that he is part of both TNG and DS9. It doesn’t matter which series gets the next movie or the movie after that: he’ll still have a role. It doesn’t matter for Colm Meany either: he has a movie career, and always did. Not that I don’t miss the big lug, but even if they have a DS9 movie, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he turned it down.

Ira Behr explains that DS9 was intentionally left open for a movie. "The studio was interested [in a feature film]" he said. "I told them from the beginning that if the time comes when we need Sisko, [the final episode] enables you…to bring Sisko back." However, he seems unsure if there is, after all, a life after this series. "But," he claims, "in terms of the series, [the finale] is a very effective ending." Well, yes I suppose so, if you’re referring to it being an effective way to segue into a movie. But effective as the end of DS9 altogether? I think not! I want to see Kasidy and Jake get Sisko back. I want to see the relationship between Bashir and Ezri. I even miss Quark! They’re all still alive. Let’s use them!

Ron Moore is quoted as saying: "The studio wants us to leave some door open, and we tried to leave it open a crack ... but we don`t think they are going to do anything. There was no indication, none whatsoever, that they are going to do a DS9 movie, DS9 TV movie, anything." All I can say is poo on the studio. Either they don’t realize that there are a lot of DS9 fans out there, or they are taking a page from George Lucas’ book and spreading false rumors so we won’t have a clue as to what is going on.

Nichole deBoer and Rene Auberjonois both seem quite iffy on the idea of a DS9 movie, apparently having themselves heard nothing but rumors, and those seem to be no more than what we fans have heard. While Auberjonois seems to feel that a DS9 movie is not the best idea, saying: "It just doesn`t make sense to me … I just don`t believe anybody thinks they can go to

I haven't heard anything from Nicole on a DS9 Movie..

I haven't heard from Nicole in a VERY long time!!
Ok, Aug. 2000, but nothing on a DS9 movie and I'm sure she would have told us. Only thing she said was she was in "The Fearing Mind" that comes on the FOX FAMILY CHANNEL on Weekends.
Not much else except that and her fan mail addy in Toronto isn't in excistance anymore.
Sorry..wish I could help...but can't :/
If I hear anything I'll let ya know!

I'd love a DS9 movie. I'd definitely go to see it. Don't know how probable it is, though.

I'd love to see the TNG movies go on and on, too. I hope ST X is not the last!

Actually, I've heard something about a petition to bring back DS9. I'm not sure about the particulars, like whether the intent is to bring it back to TV or to request a DS9 movie. I guess there are quite a lot of signatures, though. Anyone know anything about this?

little star :)

DS9 Movie Petition

Here is what I heard @ the con:

GUEST: Is there going to be a DS9 movie?

Nicole deboer: Its' True, their going to make a movie!

*group cheers*

Nicole deboer: No, I don't know, I haven't heard anything about it ot any rumors, sorry.

As far as that petition. I really don't like the group signing it!!
I think we need a break and let em' have a BIG comeback!!! If not it'll end up like "STAR TREK: Insurrection" Too fast, too quick and uncreative!

Sorry!
Just my opinions. People want to see the DS9 cast so bad and a movie and if it comes out bad, the cast and crew are the 1st to blame!

I for one would love to see a DS9 Movie.. But as you said lets hope they get it right.. its what we all want a dam good Movie.. so dont rush into anything poeple at Paramount.. Give the sctors a break and bring them back for the best Movie of the decade....
