Ah, new book out, will read as soon as library get it. Dad won't buy hardbacks. If you've read it, can you tell me what you think?

OHHHHH IT'S NOT FAIR!!

Hubby buys book,
Hubby shows me book,
Hubby lets me touch book,
Hubby wraps book up for Xmas present!!!
Hubby laughs
Hubby cries out in sudden pain.

Well said Skip, he shouldn't continualy flick the remote whilst I'm watching FarScape either, but hey who am I to complian I like watching 10 seconds max of 5 channels,(no sky/cable yet thank god or it would be 10 secs of 55 channels!)
Sigh!

35 days to go!

Ah, I am forceful when it comes 2 TV. Do watch terrestrial in my room, but Wed, SG on SSky- GETOUTGETOUTGETOUT! You watch corrie/e-enders etc. MY TIME NOW! Hubby sounds like Jack (ahh) low attention span!

LOL, try NO attention span.
Bless him.
Do you have another half?He puts up with my Sci-fi, I endure his flicking/sports/inability to wash up/ pick up socks, etc.
Oh Dear we've just got digital T.V.How does it go, 55 channels and nothing on!
Perhaps the cat could eat the remote, here Kitty, kitty.

Love him really!

Hubby, not cat!!

Mind you cat doesn't flick!!!

No better half, except of personality. Am only 16 and nasty parents no sci-freaks. BAD. Do love all humour too, as can see by insane posts... Do you write comedy at all? We got digital a while ago, for Man U. Means I get Sky 1 and MTV.... hehehe!

Good luck with cat :)

Keep working on the parents after years of forced exposure when I lived at home mine now watch ST. Never give up , there is always hope!

Can you tell I'm a Liverpool fan!!!

Liverpool... uh, I'm not suposed to talk to you now... my dad will kill me! Hah, he sid he'd disown me if I married a City fan :) No, they'll never learn. Dad sorta likes some sf, occassionally (i know i spelt it wrong). He made me read TP though, so am happy! :)

I'll not mention the footie if you don't, hubby is a Leeds fan. Well someone has to be I suppose! The inlaws still haven't forgiven me.

I read to my kids all the time,Robyn(6)knows all about TP.You are never too old for books! If your Dad gave you TP then he must be a good egg, even if he supports Man U!

Okay you like TP and Blackadder have you read any Douglas Adams or David Eddings? Or have you tried Gerald Durrell,(He's not Sci-fi at all more noahs ark) But he still reduces me to tears each time I pick him up.

Sorry I keep forgetting you are younger than me, you've got better things to do than sit and read all day.I remember those days! How to make a girl/Mum feel old in one easy lesson!

Better things to do? You must be kidding. I LOVE DOUGLAS ADAMS! I love Robert Rankin- worth the read~ Armageddon the Musical.... I love books. Have done since I was tiny and bnever stop reading I have a few years to catch up on you though... I'm trying!

LOL
what ya mean a few years to catch up with me.
That's fighting talk that is, if you young whippersnappers don't watch it, it'll be handbags at dawn!

Oh by the way give me an insight here, how does 'don't do that' get translated into 'must do it at any cost'. I ask this after a VERY interesting 5 mins with a 6 year old and a tube of superglue.

Aw, come on! I'm still at school and DON'T HAVE A HANDBAG ANYWAY!
6 y/o have their own language. You should know this by now!
Ah, Douglas Adams rocks. I love the Hitchiker trilogy and I like his Dirk Gently stuff. Have you heard the radio serialisation ot HHGTTG? Funneee!
As for Pratchett, have you read 'Good Omens' with Neil Gaiman? I love that book, slightly darker than his solo stuff.
There is some good funny fanfic in that kind of humour vein out there.
Do you write yourself? I'm working on some humourous stuff, when I've finished the rest. I'm collaborating with three people at the mo, Jsc and I are half way through a good story (OK, I am biased ;) but who isn't?) I'm also betaing some things too. I love writing! About as much as I love reading. My parents taught me to read at a very early age and I became an instant bookworm! I'd love to read anything you've done and if you haven't- give it a go!
Ah, I'm doing my GCSEs at the mo, one of the english teachers is an avid sci-freak, but the others hate it. I used 'Icons'- posted here somewhere- for our reading competition and got through to the next round! I may also use if for my original writing coursework, so I am happy!
Eep! I write too much! Sorry if I bored you, but I love to talk!

lalalala The hedgehog never gets .............. lalalala
Hehehehehe!

OK, went a bit manic there.

Loved Dark Omens, I was surprised at how well he writes in collaberation (?sp).
Though I have loads of ideas I've never put anything down in earnest. One day I will I'm sure.
Good luck in GCSE's I've just started one in Astronomy. I'm heading for a degree and need this one first. They never had anything this good when I did school, the most exciting thing I could do was woodwork.
I think reading is the 'dogs wotsits' and I get a real kick out of teaching the offspring to read. You can never have too many books.

I totally agree. Oh, I love the luggage. I've been re-reading 5th elephant. I think you should try to write, there are plenty of people who will help!

Wow, this is what it's like.....

Wow, this is what it's like when someone finds a place where they feel at home. After emabraasing myself throughly on the Stargate quiz, I am need of a little Discworld, where I feel I know what I'm on about.
Yeah, Skip, I finished reading 'The Truth' last night. I love it, Pratchett is a brilliant writer, true to the genre, and so much more, as there's crime, mystery, murder, and a whole lot more in his novels. I also love Douglas Adams. I got the 'Hitch Hiker' omnibus a few years back for Christmas, and had finished it by the end of the holidays. I have got the radio series (The whole lot, luckily) on BBC tapes. Very funny, very funny indeed, I even had my sister quoting Zaphood's 'Belgium' line! I haven't read any Robert Rankin, but I've heard he's good. Oh, yes, Dirk Gently is very good as well. GCSE's huh, Skip? same here, and a few weeks to the mocks! Your English teacher's a Sci-Fi freak, lucky, mine isn't, but my Physics teacher likes Issac Asimov
Lastly, You said it Cap'tCrash, you can never have too many books. (Where would we be? I ask you......)
Hedgehog? Oh, yeah, you sing it Skip!

Hedgehog

The Hedgehog can never be B***ered at all...

hehehehe!

Glad to find people who share my interests! I LOVE Pratchett, you should try Rankin if you get the chance, he rocks ABSO!
Where do you hail from SF?

Huh, SF, I understand that u don't want emailing thru this board, but feel free to mail me ifu'd likle to chat at all- I'm free! (Oh, BAD impersonation there!)
Oh, BTW I officially hate you as I've reserved the truth from the lib, but not read yet *grrrrrrrrrrrrrr* (OJ)

'Kay, so it's January, read it yet? I bought a Robert Rankin book today 'Raiders of the Lost Car Park', sounded....interesting.

Yeah, damn overdue... grr. I got it day but y/day and I'm 13/15 thru, approx as I had to do some beta stuff. I love it!
