I liked her also but not my favourite. They sort of had to to let Daniel progress as a character really... still i recon she will still come back in some shape or form somehow.. maybe a time travel ep.. we shall see.
I think that the character of Sha're was underused. We could have see more of her and they could have done more with her. I thought they would have done more with her after the Movie Stargate and the preimer episode of SG-1 but they didn't. Except for the fact that Amonnet and Apophis loved each other that was never developed either. The Harcesis child was supposed to be the new host for Apophis ... They never got around to one for Amonnet. They will bring back the Harcesis child in Series 4.
Her death and that of Amonnet certainly gives Apophis a reason to hate Teal'c and the Abydonians. I wonder if we will see them again after Series 3?
I liked yours! You have some good fan fic on it! I think it is a shame that the writers decided to end the Daniel?Sha're romance in death! Blast. They never really developed her character. Could have been really good!
I think it was a very good thing that they finally killed her off, at least the man can now get on with his life, not that he didn't have fun before hand. But hey he can now live a hell of a lot more.
It was one of the better moves the writers have made.
I agree that I think it was a good thing to end that story arc. A 'quest' that goes on too long just becomes boring. Like Mulder and his sister. It also freed up Daniel's character to persue other story lines. Same with Skaara. I also like that they did end it with a very powerful and satisfying episode. Sad, too.
Plus, maybe this is cold hearted, but since Michael Shanks and Vaitaire Bandera (sp?) aren't together anymore, we probably wouldn't have seen her again even if they hadn't tied up that story.
I liked Sha're in the film...she seemed more strong willed.
The Sha're in the program can sometimes come over as quite a weak character...apart form when she was turned into a gou'ald.
Im kinda glad they finished off the story...but thats just my view
Hi, well, I guess you know who I'm partial to. The movie Sha'uri was great, she had guts and a mind of her own and felt strongly about her people. She was a hero too as much as any of the men were. And although they made it a man's movie she played her part in the struggle to free her people from Ra. Even sacrificing herself for Daniel. On the series they made her too shy and too falling all over him to be real. I understand her love for him but they went overboard a bit. Then when she's taken by the Goaulds she barely fights them, the movie one would have fought to the death before allowing herself to become one of them. I guess it brings the storyline across to have her become a Goauld and then he has to find her and turn her back, but they could have done so much more with it, explained it more too. Peter Williams played a great Apophis and does evil well. She was ok but a little flat, too taken over by evil I have no emotions left. Anyway, those are just some of my thoughts. SS
I have to agree with Shiloh. Wrapping up that plot line was for the best. Not that I hated Sha're, but you can string out the 'search' plot for only so long before it gets completely stale. Besides, after so many years of separation, I doubt they could have gone back to their original relationship anyway.
