Hmm what's that thing on Teal'cs chin?

What the heck happened? I don't recall when exactly, but somewhere along the line Teal'c got that stripe on the chin... looks damn silly to me, like he cut him self shaving or something.. when was this? More to the point WHY was this? Did we get to know?

aah, just see small vics did ya?
it first showed up in small victories(guess he grew and bleached it in those 9 days they were stranded or something)
and it disappears in beneath the surface never to be seen again (at least not through serpents venom)
no one knows exactly what is was for.
it has been called chin drool, poridge dribble, oatmeal drool, the fuzzy caterpillar and lot more.

various people have speculated upon its purpose with the more colorful explanations having to do with some type of jaffa pon farr or something along that vein.
all i can say is thank goodness it's gone. there were eps where i swore it moved

A friend of mine called it a 'shrimp'. I think it had to do with the long standing rumor that Teal'c was going to get hair. He did - it was just a dab on his chin.

I actually got used to seeing it there so that even when it was gone I never really noticed.

BTW, those that have seen CJ at the cons know that he does bleach his real hair that color.

yeah, I saw that picture also, I threaten to go to the SGC and cut his hair for free, if he ever dye it that color again(heck, I go anyway
Did they ever say why he had it?

At Gatecon....

...CJ said that he was so very, very desperate for having hair...."any hair"... that he grew the little fuzz button (my words) so that he could have hair. The yellow colour was his choice. But as the ongoing dyeing of the chin hair made the hair so brittle that there were times that the hair would fall off into his food... , that he agreed to remove the chin hair for later episodes in Season 4.
