Christopher Judge
Gatecon and The Official MGM Stargate SG-1 site report the following bio on Christopher Judge:
Christopher Judge
Wise alien Teal'c, the former personal guard of Apophis, who joins the team of explorers in STARGATE SG-1. In the two hour series premiere movie, Judge's character rebels against Apophis saying "when Teal'c meets up with the SG-1 team, he sees a possible ally and decides to enlist their aid in helping free his people." When questioned about what his character thinks of our world, Judge said "to Teal'c, everything is cut and dry and it's either black or white. There's either right or wrong. There is no standing on the fence and not being able to decide between two issues. Things like infomercials confuse him."
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Judge, whose ethnic heritage is African American and Cherokee, knew from a very young age that he wanted to be an actor. The oldest of two brothers, he studied telecommunications and film at the University of Oregon on a football scholarship. The reason he played the sport "was so that people would know who I was and perhaps make the segue to acting less difficult." Though Judge was passionate about acting, he became a three-time All-American football player as a defensive safety and played in the Hula Bowl.
While in Oregon, Judge entered a contest to host a local morning radio show. His witty monologue was so brilliant that he got the job as a morning DJ. Though this job helped Judge break into acting, he did study at the renowned Howard Find Studio in Los Angeles.
Judge's first acting role was that of Officer Sikes in "Bird On A Wire" starring Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn. Judge's other film credits include "Cadence," "House Party II," "Little Feet" and "The Glory Years." He has guest starred in several television series including "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "MacGyver," "Martin," "21 Jump Street," "Wise Guy" and "Gabriel's Fire." In addition, Judge was a regular on the television series "Sirens."
Away from the set, Judge is extremely passionate about playing golf and looks for every opportunity to be out on a course. He is actively involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Canada.
