Stargate Moments

Kind of goes hand in hand with TKYBWTMSWhen... but could be a little different.

What are your Stargate Moments? ...those moments when you suddenly find yourself thinking that you've suddenly been gated into the story because something crops up in your RL that reminds you of the show.

The other night I was sitting here at the computer and I glanced out the window. My cat has claimed my scanner for his new bed and he was also staring out the window. The light hit just right and his reflection in that window made his eyes glow gold, not red, and my first thought was Goa'uld cat.

I was in the middle of a long day and, due to the recent answer of one of my clients, about to get much much longer and I realized that, in the back of my mind, I had just thought, "there must be a gate out of this building . . ."

technically this isn't a "moment", but there was a guy at school who reminded me SO much of Daniel... some of his mannerisms, but especially his looks - I'm positive that in 10 years time he'll look just like Daniel! I've watched Stargate a long time, and only recently started to become obsessed with it - but I've found it hard not to think of Daniel whenever I see him for the last year at least.

don't quite know if these are total stargate moments but there have been times when i'm at work and i just have a flash of inspiration for a fic. like once i was tearing paper off the printer and flashed back to the mash eps where hawkeye walkes naked across the compoound and i (of course) immediately thought of jack doing the same thing and...a fic was born.
it's spoky when it happens cause for the rest of the day half my mind is occupied with spinning the tale and not necessarily on work

This morning my mum said to my dad, "You're off with the fairies!". Then, I said, "No, he's off with the Nox".
I was totally accidental, and funny at the time.

There was this 10 year old kid I was taking care of for a bout a week of so... I swear it was a mini Daniel! Same sandy short hair cut with bright blue eyes and same glasses...

First time I went to see an appendicectomy, it was under coelioscopy. When the surgeon started pulling that huge thick 6 inch long appendicitis, I thought 'JAFFA!'. When it finally came out and he started dangling it inches away from my face, I was so startled I screamed I almost fell of the step I was standing on. That was... embarassing.

we can only hope a days work, on one of those fanfic inspired days, doesn't require dexterity with sharp edged tools, plague inspiring solutions, or large amounts of combustible materials ...

My moment...of stupidity. Ah, to explain, I was watching my sister on the computer (uh, yes), and the internet wasn't loading properly. I told her "It's all right, just 'dial up again'"!! I had got out of the room before I realised the connection!

once i was talking to some friends about future careers and something like this slipped out:
i wouldn't really mind being a doctor cuz then i'd get to patch up the teams when they get back.

i was on the receiving end of some very strange looks

I got a question on a Maths paper yesterday that looked SO much like the diagram Daniel draws in the film for how the Gate addresses work. I mean, this was a cube with an 'origin' in it! And I counted the other points. I'd like to think I got the question right...unlikely with my Math 'skills'.

we were at a hotel this weekend - i was channel surfing (we don't have cable at home) and came across a macgyver ep. my 8 year old took one look and said "macgyver looks kinda like jack o'neill"
it was quite the sg moment (not to mention the fact that one of the bad guys was played by don davis...)

fortunately that doesn't happen...but the next day's logs sure look weird...specially when i'd really much rather be typing or writing a fic than working...
