Any comics you enjoy? I haven't bought any new ones for a while, but I enjoy The Savage Dragon, Spawn, That Yellow ******* (I can't remember the author, Frank something, he drew daredevil and Batman). And quite a few others, almost all old.

I'm old. I used to read "Superman" when I was a kid. That's really about it.

We just cleared the shed and I had boxes of old comics in there....

I seem to read more DC than Marvel, I was an Xmen and Doctor Strange fan.
Xmen has become a franchise and Dr. Strange has been discontinued

Batman has several titles and I try to read it sometimes, but I'm not much of a Superman fan. I do like to watch Smallville, the Early Years.

His 'Ronin' is one of the most brilliant graphic novels I have ever read.

My favorite comic character ever was Allan Moore's V For Vendetta. A chilling comic-bok dystopia.

Has anyone read the Asterix comics? Those were great fun! The newer ones seem to be a case of diminishing returns though, but the art continues to stun.

Erik Larson's Savage Dragon was great. I wasn't really supportive of the formation of Image Comics since it originated by top artists who believed that they were also good writers while they weren't. Peter David's run on the Incredible Hulk was quite refreshing for a mainstream comic title. Sam Keith's Maxx was downright amazing. By now I may sound like a broken record, but I must praise Neil Gaiman once again. His Sandman series has more literary awards than any other comic series in history.

I started getting back into [American] comics after the release of X-Men 2. I haven't bought any recently though...lack of time...I would like to the read the famous Watchmen sometime as it is said to be the or one of best comic. Also on the list are: Elfquest, Hellboy, and a bunch of other Marvel/DC heroes. Asterix is cool though I haven't read much. There are also Calvin & Hobbes and The Farside, which have great collections.

I read a good amount of web/sprite comics online and occasionally newspaper comics.

I read Japanese comics (manga), however, much more often. They have become very popular in America recently and have captivated my interest for some time.

www.homestarrunner.com is a funny, well maintained, and frequently updated site for humor.

The "Answering Email" section of the site is hilarious.

PS: In the comic book discussion, I would also throw in a graphic novel collection of Tank Girl.

Amen, I forgot to mention that. I only read like 5. I basically rely on my brothers old collection and a sister's friends which he gaave to me. Thanks, I can't believe I forgot to who Frank Miller was. His Sin City comic books were graphically and story wise amazing.

I used to be very big into comics - I once walked into a shop here and spent over £70 on just the monthly titles (it was 2 months worth of subscriptions). My collection includes all but around 12 of the original Sandman release (out of about 75 - missing issues 1-7).

Sorry - bit of a rush - but just had to revisit this topic.

Oh - and got my graphic novels down a few weeks back - re-read "Black Orchid", and it's still a fine book. Also read the Judge Dredd story "America" - one of the best - a four-part originally in the Judge Dredd megazine (where did my issue#1+ collection go??) all about democracy, rights, and personal freedoms. Bloody good read.

I picked up two really great comics lately. One was The Best of Ray Bradbury: The Graphic Novel by iBooks. A variety of artists turn some of Bradbury's tales into comics. The styles range from the gloriously pulpy to the mind-bendingly beautiful and dreamy. Highly reccomended for any fan of Bradbury, the comics medium or just good tales well told.

The other one was the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol. 1. That was just brilliant. I think Alan Moore is light years ahead of anyone in comics, Neil Gaiman included, but that's just me.

Up until about three years ago, I read a lot of comics. My favorite one was Kabuki by David Mack. His artwork and writing are awesome, but he's been working on so many other books, like Daredevil, that he hasn't done anything new with Kabuki in about two years. He is planning a new Kabuki series this summer, though. I just talked to him Saturday at the Motor City Comic Con outside of Detroit. Ron Perlman of Hellboy was there, but I didn't see him. I did see Julie Benz who played Darla on Buffy and Angel. She's actually more beautiful in person than she is on tv. I also got to talk to Dean Haglund of The Lone Gunmen and X-files. It was a total "geekfest", so I fit right in.

I have seen a couple of issues of Kabuki - not enough to get a feel for the storyline but I was very impressed by the art. I believe the issues I saw were from a sequence called 'Masks of the Noh'?
That convention seems like fun - that's quite a list of guests!
