I just checked the WHOIS database and it appears the MGM have registered http://www.stargate2.com so there might be something up there soon. It also appears stargate3.com has been registered but its not MGM its a company called POLONET so don’t get your hopes up.

yup.. i tried to buy it but they beat me to it.. shame :) i wonder what they would have done if i had :)...

it would be interesting because i doubt they have trademarked stargate2 and just having stargate would probably not give them enough legal power to get it especially if the domain name was being used for a legitimate purpose. Hehe would have been fun :)

well that is her main URL, it would not be mine so if i lost it.. well i lost it. They would find it very very hard to sue me for anything they might be able to get it but suing me for the domain well.. unlikely especially as i live across the pond, i doubt they would have trademarked it in the UK and i don't think (think) trademarks are automatically international are they?

Trademarks international? I don't know, but I think they are. I did some reading on the subject when all that fandom stuff started, but the sieve that is my brain usually lets stuff like that fall through pretty fast. ;)

Cheers,

it scares me so confusing!. My lawyer friends do this stuff i think this year so i am sure i will here lots about it :)

yeah, it's usually the guy with the best lawyers that wins in the end.

No .. it's the guy with the most money who can buy the best lawyers and judges who wins ;)

Anyway guess who's got sg-2.co.uk to go with sg-1.co.uk (v. big grin)

And the lawyer in this group didn't even come up with those responses.
