Hey, all this talk and speculation down on the 'NO SEASON SIX' thread got me thinking about the end of the show and what it would be like. This is totally hypothetical of course because I don't believe the rumours that the show is ending. Anyways, I just wanted to know what you guys think would be the best ending to the show.
ie. What things would happen in the last season/show?, What would you like to see?, Your Ideal ending?
Things Like: (Hypothetical of course - wouldn't want to jinx anything)
The SGC finally defeat the goa'uld. Totally. Big Party!!
The Stargate gets shut down permanently.
Marty comes back somehow.
Sam and Jack get together (i'm not a shipper but if it was the last ep ever it would be okay).

I'm sure there are heaps of different endings out there. So let's hear them!
 
Bad Omens

Frankly, ShelbyS this has got me thinking into what would happen if it ever ended. I mean, series have ended before, 'Babylon 5', for one, but this is a show on a good run, it has fans, for it is a very good concept bringing a whole new dimension to the genre of Science Fiction. It is based on humans, but it is exploration not where, as with 'Trek, we're a race of high technological advance, we've just got this one little thing (the 'Gate) to help us, in true SF fashion, save the Galaxy with the adddtion of a certain elite four (SG-1). If you ask me, it (Sci-Fi) needs variety of this kind, and I hope that, somewhat naivly, it seems, 'Stargate SG-1' has a long while to go yet.

By the way - Beating the Goa'uld would be too good to be true, but what a finale!
 
I doubt it will ever end on a big final conclusion, mainly because of the possibility of coming back for movies every couple of years. This is what will hapen to the x-files i guess and will never end, even then there will be books and animated stuff that comes out so they won't want a completly final conclusion.. i doubt. But i am sure it will be a big finale, perhaps a huge major battle with the goa'uld or a big weekening of the goa'uld or perhaps something like the asgard beoming evil and turning on earth.. a twist like that would be good.. i don't know but hopefully not for a long while yet!
 
We've seen different people reappear later in a season after they have been 'presumed' dead. You could still have a giant battle with the Goa'uld for the end of the season, but possibly keep one System Lord out there, say Osiris, who makes a comeback. Or possibly, in the way it was done on Kull, some priest or priestess ressurrects a System Lord to bring back the glory of the Goa'uld for the movies.

There are lots of ideas. As for the Jack/Sam thing. You'd lose me as a viewer.

could end up with them finally defeating apophis, and since he's now the single most powerful system lord that would relegate the rest to annoyances. like i can see a final scene of daniel blasting apophis with a zat, three times of course and standing stunned over where the body was, jack, sam and tealc' standing beside him with jack making some smart ass remark 'so what's next?' and they fade to black after some ust loaded glance between jack and sam to make the shippers happy.

or...tptb want to shut down the gate permnantly so sg-1 and maybe a few others sneak out throught the gate to continue the fight with the goauld from off world, maybe with the tok'ra
 
I like your last one, Skydiver, that would be very interesting. As for Daniel being the one to finish off Apophis (Quite right to, considering), all I can say is: Wicked! But Sam/Jack, definitly not.
 
Sorry, but I can't even bring myself to think about a last ever stargate (the thought is tooo distressing), except in terms of it leading on to a spin-off series (like star trek deep space nine) where they take the existing premise and move on with it. Like maybe setting the show on a off-world base with new teams/characters. That way they could keep the show on, but cut down on excessive pay demands by rotating the characters/actors.
(I feel better now I've imagined a way out, phew !!)

ps I also like the idea of Sam & Jack strolling off into the sunset, but only on the grounds that they are never heard from again.
 
i never said they WOULD go off, just that they would exchange this little ust laden glance that could be ignored by those that want to but would give the shippers more than enough to project from.

and...well apophis has got to go...with the end of hte show anyway. i mean he's been resurrected from the dead what....twice now?
and danny definitely needs to blow him away. remember how apophis egged him on in serpents song...you have neither the strength or the will or something like that, well danny zatting him into obilvion would be PERFECT.
 
i think something perhaps a little bit more violent than a zat gun from danny might be appropriate. After being raised from the dead twice, being simply disintegrated seems a bit of a boring way to die... don't you think?
 
hmm maybe Danny could lose it and have Apophis chained up somewhere and torture him, with Jack & co having to find him and save Apophis. Imagine the irony! But it'd be a terrible ending, so I should think of something else...
 
i'm only thinking of zatting him cause...well three shots is pretty darn deliberate and ....i want him to stay dead...so that means NO body to plop in a sarc.

hey, now bear in mind i haven't seen it so i don't know if he still can use it. but...it would be cool if someone (you know who, trying to avoid spoilers here) sethed him...then like cremated the body or something, ran it over with a truck, opened the gate and made the kawhoosh get him, heck dropped a grenade down his robe ala tango and cash, i just want apophis totally, entirely and completely dead. no miracle max, no sarc, no miraculous escape...he's gotta permnantly die.
 
Rumor has it that, unlike B5, Showtime has fully funded Stargate. If it's going anywhere, you'd probably better talk to the GEKKO people.
 
After Danny blasts Apophis into oblivion, I would like to see Teal'c as president elect of Chulak, Daniel supervising translations and relations with the aliens for the SGC, Jacob/Selmak happy with children and grandchildren and him, Master Bra'Tac and Hammond (Get these three girlfriends!) offworld opening a training base, Janet happy with a male companion (whom Cassie likes for a father), Siler and The Davis' haveing a fun time,andjust perhaps an ustylook between Sam and Jack (so un non shippers could enjoy the end. Of course there had better bee lots of Jack's one liners about peoples situations. Also like to see the Tollans get a comeuppance and KNOW it! (Yes! I like happy endings)
 
Love the idea of the Tollans getting their comeuppance, jsc. And what's Stargate without Jack's famous one liners. You gotta love the guy.
