Anyone noticed that series 4 has no real theme running through it? Goa'uld episodes come and go, we have had a few

SPOILER

ep 17 i think

SPOILER

SPOILER

time travel and "dreaming" episodes i think and a few individual eps but no real theme running through... i wonder what is going to happen in the last few eps, i hope we get something that lasts over a few eps.

I also think it is a shame they have not gone in and filled out some of the past eps, tin man for example, the furlings (perhaps saving them for series 5), the rheetou all these 'things' could come back again and find more out. I fear they are trying to make it so that anyone can watch a stargate ep even if they havn't seen any other ones before. While not suggesting it should be like bablon 5 where you have to watch every ep or have no change a half way house would be good me thinks.

a bit of continuity running through it would be good, it
doesn't have to be lot.

for what cronus did to his father...peachy

I know it's prob really obvious, but what are the themes for the other series'?

If you mean 'story arcs' like the Anise/Freya one, I would have to agree that in 4 there havnt been any ones that I could tie 2 or 3 episodes together with.

ya know, i never even thought of that, that there is no continuity... its kinda like star trek in a way.. there's the real basic background, and then after that every ep. is on its own...
in some ways i much prefer that... babylon 5 got so confusing.. if you missed an ep. you didnt know what was going on...
of course, in stargate they keep introducing all these great characters (bad guys usually), that i'd love to see more of...

Even Stargate-SG1 has that too a certain extent. I find that after watching the 1 and 2 series on Gamma-quadrant I understand the interact between reoccuring characters like Cassandra better and understand references in 3 and 4 better for understanding what they are refering back to. Though even before that I was enjoying the series starting with season 3.
