Star Trek: Away Team, the latest offering in the Activision Star Trek product line, has a new website now online. The game, developed by Reflexive and due to go on sale in April 1 2001, allows you to control a special team of Starfleet officers on away team missions as they explore alien environments throughout the Federation.
Activision`s new website for the game offers a wealth of information and resources including news, screenshots, wallpapers, sounds and screensavers.
Activision have kindly sent along the details for entry to Star Trek Central visitors. They will also be emailing these details out later today.

This is the seventh title for Activision, who saw their market share double last year. Previous titles include Star Trek: Conquest Online and the acclaimed Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. Away Team is the first title for developer Reflexive.

I have concluded my analysis of Starfleet`s ability to respond to threats and found the mobility and adaptability of our forces to be lacking.
Enemies like the Borg, the Romulans, the Dominion, and many others seek to dissolve the United Federation of Planets. With our own resources spread thinly across the galaxy, it is becoming increasingly difficult to protect all of our borders.
I propose that Starfleet Command form a special crew for a new time. A team prepared for the most extreme missions, capable of entering places that our conventional forces cannot go.
Starfleet research has completed their work on the USS Incursion, a starship equipped with the Holographic Masking System. With this holographic technology, the Incursion can assume the form of any ship, allowing the crew to infiltrate areas that the rest of our fleet cannot enter.
To complement the Incursion`s stealth power, I have worked closely with Commander Data to train a diverse crew of seventeen very talented individuals.
