Gater's feet...

Ok, this is hard to explain but ill have a go.
Say is sg1 gated from abydos to eath and the gate was more into the floor than usual. and in the sgs the ramp is as high as normal, sg1's feet would get chopped off, wouldent they?

Nope....the wormhole would clear anything blocking the gate when it initialized. Now,if SG-1 sat on top of the gate dangling their feet over the edge when the gate was turned on....

their what SGPflughaupt said and they wouldn't get thier feet choped off they'ed just have big bruses but i think that the gate also would put them level to the servive that they are "landing" on
if you take a look at the frist comandment the gate is flat and they "land" feet on the ramp not flying out of the gate
