Okay, doing a little research here.

Which episodes and why do you think whichever of the characters 'saved the day'?

An example:

Solitudes: Daniel saves the day by figuring out that someone is trying to dial in from another Gate on Earth thereby saving the lives of Jack and Sam and finding the second Stargate.

Just Season 1 episodes, please.

Cheers,

o-tay
cotg- teal'c saves the day by rescueing sg-1
enemy within- teal'c saves the day by killing charlie
brief candle- jack by trashing the statue
nox- jack keeping apophis from killing the nox

fire & water-sam i guess by undergoing hypnosis to remember what really happened
hathor- sam
enigma- danny by getting the tollans home

Actually wouldn't this be Jack. "I'm no scientist, but couldn't we do that Benjamin Franklin thing?" ;)

Cheers,

i'll give ya that one. jack came up with the idea, sam & co figured out how to get the lightning down to the gate.

The Broca Divide - Teal'c saves the day by bringing a blood from Untouched and Janet by finding the cure.

'There but for...' - Daniel gets the coordinates for the Goa'uld ship by figuring out that the numbers are a Stargate address. (This might be me being dense, but how the heck did he figure it out so fast?). Also, he was the one to translate the spoken Egyptian dialect to start with.

cause if it had taken him any longer they would have had to make it a 5 story arc and stretched it out more :D

1st Commandment - T'ealc for recognising the need for a second shield generator, and getting it working on queue?

Thor's Hammer - Daniel for being selfless enough to help Teal'c and exposing them all to Thor's Chariot a few months later! ;)
Okay - any of them except Teal'c could have done it really.

[And why not just shoot out the wall beside the hammer?!]

Yeah, why didn't they? Wait, it's a labyrinth on the principal you're not supposed to be able to get out that easily. Thoough the fact that their weapons were disabled could suggest that it wasn't impossible that way. This was a WALL you meant? I ramble, sorry.

P'Teppic? Great, a Discworld fan. No, that's not sarcasm, check out the thread for Discworld/Pratchett if you feel like it.

DW: oh yeah!

Wall - I meant, since they had to take the staff-weapon out through the hammer, to shoot at the hammer, why not shoot a huge hole in the wall, next to the hammer, from the outside?

[or did you get that in the end...]

Yes, I got it, I just din't like to ramble, because that annoys most people.
I can't think of another one for this thread.
