Can Anyone Help !

Most of you know me from Gatecon, but I'm also the webmaster of the AusGate web site.

At the end of this month (Feb 2001), the AusGate site will be re-born as http://www.stargate-command.com. It is a totally different look and feel for the site, and will be an RPG (role playing game) site.

I'm after a few good people to help in two ways with the site. I'm after a couple of people to help populate the site with quiz questions and mainframe entries. I am also after a couple of Beta testers for the site.

So if you think you know a fair bit about Stargate SG-1, then give me a yell, or post here.

I'm mainly asking in this section, because it would be good to get some Aussies in on the act, and I think we are left out of a lot of things, so it's time we put out something that can hopefully take on the big boys of the SG-1 internet world.

hmm.... i back you 100% on the site, but i am currently working on a stargate site so all i can do is beta test it! sorry!

Frustrationg is definitely the word !!!!!

My biggest problem is finding the time and energy... after spending 10 hours a day at work, churning out production line web sites, it makes it hard to get the energy back to do my own stuff.

I'll give you a yell once the site is ready for beta testing. And Good luck with your site.

also the html can be frustrating, gettin it right, ARG!

i just had 2 months school holidays and i didn't get around to working on it heaps , but it's got a good start

It's not so much the html, but more the ASP and SQL database stuff. Can get hairy at times.

Now you mention it, I will keep that same motto. I never intended it to be the site's motto, but it seems to have stuck.

The basics are... The site is broken down into episodes, and each episode is broken down into location within that episode.

Each location needs quiz questions and mainframe entries.

There will be a special section (very soon), where you can go to and add in a question or mainframe entry.

i might be able to help you with the odd SQL stuff, i don't know ASP but i am sure all the SQL is the same as it is in php so should be able to help here. But so busy with vb2.0 coming out this weekend (beta tester) so ....

Gatecon, I'd love to help. But I know squat about ASP and SQL. As far I'm aware an ASP is a snake with a bit of an ego problem. If there's anything else I can do, give us a yell.

That was actually me Martouf, I should have said so.

I have enough beta testers at the moment, but I will leave the thread open if anyone wants to make any comments on the site, and forewarn the general public of what is to come for them.
