i just have to know...

has any one ever met RDA @ a convention?

i know he didn't attend Gatecon last year because of Wylie Quinn Annarose (growl- she is getting far too much attention from our lover...)

and i wanna know.....

..... is he as sexy in real life is he is on screen?

Hee hee hee!

The last convention he ever went to (as far as I know) was back in his Macguyver days. He has said that he doesn't really like going to conventions.

If we get him to Gatecon 2001, it will be nothing short of a miracle. (But we're hoping)

I'm pretty sure that we tried that one.... and will try it again.

You never know with RDA, I gather like everyone else, he can be impulsive.

Hopefully he will come after I hear that all that everyone talked about on the set was Gatecon 2000. That must have made him at least a bit curious.

If he does come, he won't advertise it, and just turn up unnanounced..... What a thrill that would be.... The place would go off.

you're making me jealous!

I WANNA GO!!!!!!!

Allan, you must have REALLY HEAVY BAGS that need carrying, DON'T YOU?

Trouble is we'd all be fighting over them :)

You can carry my bags anytime.....

Actually I might have some extra space in one if you don't mind stowing away in the baggage compartment (It's almost as comfortable as economy).

given the delights of flying across the pacific to vancouver, I'd say flying in the baggage compartment would be a definite improvement.

then you mightn't smell that unbelievably awful crud they serve on Canadian which they have the audacity to call coffee (starbucks).

btw, how many times have you been to vancouver?

My Gatecon 2000 trip was my first trip to Canada....

Actually it was my first overseas trip anywhere. It was so exciting... shame it just takes so long to get there.

But I loved Canada.. I would have stayed if I could... but my wife would have killed me.

Take her with you next time!

My trip to Canada last September was my first big OS trip (if you don't count NZ, Noumea and Fiji, all a long time ago) and we went over to the other side as well to Quebec, Montreal, Toronto and Niagara. Took the whole family.

We all fell in love with Canada. It was actaully hard to come home. After five weeks away, I still just wanted to be there. I'd live in Vancouver for a while given half the chance. My father loves it and that always made me want to visit the place. Wasn't disappointed.

Anyway, this getting way off topic so I'll stop there.

PS looks like we're playing tag tonight (instead of working somewhere else - if you're still around, I'll be busy in the other place tomorrow)

Yes, I had planned on being there myself, but so many posts, so may replies...... I'll get some work done tonight... Eventually :)

Actually, that sounds quite an appealling idea...

Eh, girls!?!??

Gatecon ...

I hope you've at least gotten *some* sleep, Big Guy. :}

Trips

Even though Canada is another coundty I can't even call it a trip as I live only a 3 hour drive south from the GateCon site in Richmond, BC. I did get a chance to go to Israel last year on an excavation. 11 hours from Tel Aviv to Newerk, NY in a 747.

I'd rather fly with the Air Force... at least then I know I can expect to be overcrowded with bad food in a noisy environment where I can't sleep. :}

Rowan, you don't the Air Force for that!

Any economy (read "cattle") class commercial flight will give those sorts of conditions for no extra charge :)

BTW, I bags being the one chained closest to RDA.

Oh, the thought of it, the thought of it..........

Flying 'Air America' ...

Have you even noticed that when you get a load of perfectly healthy adult males who belong to the US Army inside an Air Force air frame, the first thing they want to do is jump out of it?

Now... that perception may be squewed by my darlin' husband who spent most of his military career leaving Air Force air frames by that route.

Or as he puts it: he's got hundreds of take-offs with the Air Force, but only 6 landings and 3 of those were 'unplanned deviations from the flight plan' [read: they crashed.].

I won't really knock 'my brothers and sisters in blue'. I doubt I could have walked home from Saudi Arabia after Desert Storm and where else can you catch a ride in a plane big enough to haul the volume of a crumpled up football field [a C-5A] with a bunch of good looking guys in uniform who hand you two boxes of coconut-caramel Girl Scout cookies and a jug of botteled water for your 'in-flight meal'. :}
