This is going to sound like flame...
Before I say what I must say, I will say this: the look of this site is great -- the consistency of colour and layout is awesome, and someone has obviously worked hard to get the graphics just right. And they are just right.
Now, I must point out nits, because I hate to see little errors in sites...
Almost one year after the the initial mission to Abydos, the Stargate program was to be shut down. Troops from the base were reassigned, and General West replaced by General George Hammond. The appearance of an alien thought initially to be Ra, suddenly called the reactivation of the Stargate, and the recall of the now retired Colonel Jack O'Neill, and a new mission to Abydos to retrieve Daniel Jackson.
This could be better phrased (sorry, sorry):
"Almost one year after the initial mission to Abydos, the Stargate Program was to be shut down. Troops from the base were reassigned, and General West was replaced by General Hammond. However, the unexpected appearance of an alien initially thought to be Ra prompted the sudden reactivation of the stargate, and the recall of the now-retired Colonel Jack O'Neill to lead a new mission to Abydos, in order to retrieve Dr Daniel Jackson..."
Some of the changes are matters of preference, I admit, but I just wanted to point out possible ways to improve the flow of the text. You can use it or not; I won't charge you...
Earth... Thought to be the home of the Tau'ri, the 'First Race'. Earth now boast a population of 4 billion people. Almost 50% of the earth surface is covered in water, and the livable land supports many varying climates, races and animal life forms. The Goa'uld was thought to harvest the humans of earth for slaves and hosts throughout history.
This, too, could perhaps be polished:
"Earth...thought to be the home of the Tau'ri, the "First Race". Earth now boasts a population of nearly 6 billion people. Almost 60% of the Earth's surface is covered in water, and the livable land supports many varying climates, races and lifeforms. The Goa'uld were thought to harvest the Humans of Earth for slaves and hosts thoughtout history."
Note that the Earth's population is not 4 billion, but nearly 6 billion. I'm also not sure about the land to sea ratio; I have a suspicion it's not 1:1, but several minutes of searching did not, surprisingly, yield any results. I'm slipping up.
Now that I've gone and done my nasty criticism, I'll leave. Please
report any nits of my own so I can get a taste of my own medicine.
