It must be good to be the queen...
I'm betting that the "queen bee" Goa'uld don't go anywhere or do anything unless they are *completely* equipped to build a new nest in absolutely hostile foreign territory.
She had everything she needed (except for the hottub and an unwilling but controllable populace, both of which she found) to start her nest: sarcophagus in case anything went physically wrong, chemical agents to pacify enough of the populace and ensnare her Beloved, weapons to defend herself (what's that glove-thing called?), the belly-button-gem thing for making new Jaffa, and whatever cool technology got her through Carter's last attack and the resulting carnage without so much as a mark on her...
Somehow she also knew English, or had some sort of universal translation device... it wouldn't surprise me if she inherently sensed the Chaapa'ai, or had some unseen technology to find it.
My biggest questions about Hathor I'm hoping get addressed in later seasons, but maybe someone here can enlighten me: are the queen bee Goa'uld mothers typical of all female Goa'uld, or are they a special kind? In other words, can any female Goa'uld do what she did? And also, assuming that Hathor was simply a "typical" Goa'uld parasite inside a human host, what extra steps did that joining include that made the host woman biologically able to do all the special tricks that Hathor did?
